Jimny\axles under a coily sierra

Post by suzukishrek »

Hi guys and gals,

New to the board here and I'm from the UK.

Been into Sierras (we call them SJ's or Samurais!) for a while now and have been modding them for what seems like forever, but it turns out to be just under a year. ;)

I've searched the board for an answer to a question I have. In the UK we never got any of the coily Sierras you guys got and we went straight to the Jimny. However, someone I know has coily Sierra that originated in Cyprus and has managed to bust the front axle! I was wondering if it's possible to swap the Jimny axle straight under the coily Sierra or is there work involved to mod it to fit? I guess I'd have to swap a rear Jimny axle in too to keep things compatible?

Failing that, are the axles and diffs the same between a coily Sierra and a leaf sprung Sierra? Maybe we can just mod the leafer to become coily.

I'm sorry if my search hasn't found anything and I'm posting something that I should otherwise find, but your help and understanding is much appreciated.
