what going on . flat battery, charge battery, take battery lead off the battery and car dies, ok Alternator gone. go for a drive 10 amps on gauge. battery goes flat again, charge battery again. go for another drive 14 amps this time. now when i take the battery leads off the battery car still goes. is it tell me some think about the Alternators ready to die
just a note on running the motor without the battery hooked up DONT DO IT! it stuffs the alernator you may get away with it at idle but as soon as you rev it you will more than likely blow the diodes
to_easy wrote:another question, will it hurt if i put a wire from the + side of the Alternator to the + side of the battery = short cut.
it will depend on which + / positive you are talking about the big one which has a nut and thread ,that goes to the battery the little one with a push on lug should go through the ignition
