Best place to buy a used 2.8 Diesel?

Post by Beefcake »

Can anyone suggest good places to try in or around Bris. for a used 2.8 Diesel? Doesn't matter if it needs some work. Also do these have the same mounts as an '85 2.4 Diesel? I've just picked up an '85 Runner and am keen to bolt a 3L (?) in and turbo etc etc.

Cheers

I could possibly help you on this. Im just about to pull a 2.8 with a Toyota CT20 Turbo out of a 92 hilux. It will bolt straight back in where the 2.4 was. I just need to decide on wether its worth me keeping and rebuilding to use later.

thanks. Sounds something like what I'm after. What would be the reason for the rebuild? Just a freshen up or is there damage?
