Well guys we have just watched the dvd and to be honest, we absolutely enjoyed it. Sorry to be vein but we got more coverage on the dvd than we have in the pic's (didn't even get a lookin at woodpecker. Whoops, another story).

I do agree about showing the little guys as they are competing just like the rest of us, it was good to see you all.

Its funny cause now we can put a face and a car to you all on here, he he he .

This was our first year competing, will be back next year.

Good job to all involved.
Any time off road is a good time...

Thanks for the comments all. Good or bad, it's good to hear what people think. I'll answer as I go:

Gonna be harsh but i thought it was pretty crappy. Didnt seem to go for long and it was the same car every event how about showing a little more of the little guys out there, how many times do we have to watch the big cars over and over again. The wombat hole segment considering it was scraped last year but ran this year the segment was so short. Last gripe music could we have something a little more rocking that music could put me to sleep same with the willowglen and trials dvds for years gone past. I hope australian images can use this for some constructive critisim.
Theres my bitch
I've come to the conclusion that you can't please all of the people all of the time, so all we can do is try to provide the best compromise. But I do love constructive critisism :D

Didn't seem to go for long: It went for over 3 hours. I don't think I'd want to make it any longer or I'd get people complaining that it dragged on!

Music: This is always a challenge. I've had comments ranging from too hard to too soft, too loud to too quiet, all from the same DVD! We used some of the same artists as last year, but not generally the same tracks. It's always hard getting music. You're not allowed to use commercial music (think $20k per track!), so you have to find talent who are willing to give you music. Not always easy. If anyone knows anyone who'd be keen, please get them to drop me a line.

Gee, thanks for that. Why don't you say what you really think!

"Don't seem to learn"? It's hard to learn if nobody ever tells you what they don't like. Last year I got a total of 2 negative comments about the Willowglen/Nissan Trials DVDs, and even those were reasonably happy. I got well over 100 positive comments/emails. So if you only get two unhappy customers and 100+ happy ones, you might think that most people are pretty happy with the overall format of the DVDs. If you're not happy, then PLEASE contact me and tell me what you're not happy about. We aim to please!
thunder wrote:regarding willowglen i dont believe its the dvd peoples fault for not as much action.
the courses were slowed right down and with it there was not much action.

same cars alot =maybe the film and photo people moved from event 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 and that why it would be the same cars.if there short of numbers they should go to tracks in backwards order 4-3-2-1
Here's some info that might help people understand how we decide what gets on the DVD and what doesn't:

We usually have 1-2 cameras on each stage, so we get footage of most cars attempting at least part of most stages. This leaves you with (eg Nissan Trials) ~8 hours of footage. You need to get this down to ~3 hours, so things have to get cut out. We have a list of every competitor, and we try to make sure everyone gets on the dvd AT LEAST once. If you're an exciting competitor, or you have a radical vehicle then you are going to get on more often. If you drive slow and easy, then you're going to get cut out more often. It might sound harsh, but people want to see action, and if they don't then they aren't happy!

Lastly, like I said, you can't please all of the people all of the time. There will always be some who want heavier music and some that want lighter music. Some who want to see the big trucks and some who think they feature too much. We try to provide the best compromise of all these things, and I'm perfectly happy to format the DVDs as the majority of people want. So, speak up. Send an email to feedback@australianimages.com.au and tell us what you want. If you want changes, tell me. If you're happy, tell me. I'll make the DVDs however people want, but I don't want a vocal minority making changes that will piss off everyone else!
