GU Rear Tyre Holder

Anyone heard of a GU rear spare tyre holder OTHER than complete rear bay assembly options, eg Kaymar.

They're too expensive when all I want is to get that f'n tyre off the door.

It doesn't get it off the back door, but they do make a spacer to fit a larger (33") tyre.

I think you'll just have to fork out the sheckles... Check all manufacturers and see what you like the look of too. The new ARB is a nice unit - about the same as the Kaymar though! Don't know how they hols up on the rough stuff though (latch etc.).
2000 GU II, 6.5L Chev Diesel (ex ZD30), lift, bar+winch, rear bar, drawers, fuel tanks I need a personal loan to fill... most of the regular touring gear.

theres a place out of perth makin a not bad lookin one for $1800-2000.. but still $1000 too rich for few hunge bux of steel.

an adaptor to hang a 35" tyre off your back door?

The one from ARB that costs $50-60 should allow a 315/75 to hang on it, if you're comfy with putting such a large tyre on the panel.

we made spacers but we don't have our tyre on the door anymore on our gu wagon it's in cab. our's is 2000 model and there door is already starting to crack. tyre only goes on door when we go away.it's a 33'' tyre. just not worth breaking/wrecking your rear door then buying another one.

Don't worry about the panel bending, it'll sag off the hinges first and you'll just suck dust in the back doors...

$40 for the bracket from ARB when I bought it, and it can hold a work light and it doesn't take much to make up an adapter for a shovel. $400 ??? Just add a bit more and get a whole new rear bar.
