Hey all just bothering you all with more questions, hopefully I can answer some one day.
Had some new tough dogs installed for about 5000klm now. It was a 40mm lift with new shocks and TB wind at the front and new leaf springs in the rear with 9 stage adjustables. Fairly happy with the result although not enough flex, but I expect I can't do a whole heap more with a jap IFS ute....anyway what I am cranky about is the amount of noise coming from the rear leafs.
It creaks and groans like nothing else. And it is bad. going up a small curb, starting off at lights, the weight transfer is enough to make it go off like a fire cracker. a bumb and its all on. it makes noise even when I look at it!!!!
Seems when I hose it down at the car wash, it shuts up for about 5 mins, untill it dries out. There is a slight amount of surface rust on the leafs. I was told when I went back to the shop after 500klms, that it was settling. I have done a few medium trips in the ute since then, and me thinks its done settling by now and should be quiet.........help me please.

WD40 also attracts and retains dirt, etc.
Try some silicon spray in and around teh bushes after you have greased up all the pivot points. I had teh same setup for my Hilux, and had an annoying squeek from the rear left, turns out the eye bolt needed a bit more grease.
I sprayed in between the leafs when fully stretched apart with the Silicon spray and it fixed the problem for a long while, but you will need to re spray everytime you service the car. I do it when I grease up the rear shackles. No extra time taken.
Cheers

hey,
It turns out, that I was assuming everything was done up tight, especially after I had it checked at 500km after installation. I tightened up the rear shackle bolts some more, and hey presto 90% of the noises are gone.....i'm happy with that. There will always be a little noise, so all is good now....I think.....unless I have done something wrong by tightening them up?

Cool.
That makes me feel better. I figure if I have done something to the bushes, I 'll wait till they fail, and buy some new ones to replace the shot ones.
The guys at the shop didn't use a torque wrench when doing the 500km service.
Thanks for your help guys
