G16B wiring questions

Post by nicbeer »

Hey all,

Doing the wiring for my conversion at the moment. (slowly ongoing). Engine is a G16A mpfi 16v jap import with a 4spd auto. (going manual in the sierra)

A couple questions on what these do and what to do with them.

1. Brake pedal switch wiring - it is a 4 wire plug although one of my diagrams is a 2 wire, also goes into the engine wiring loom. Is this connected to the auto somehow?
wires are
green/white trace
blue/green
blue/red
green

2. Inhibitor wiring / sw. what to do with this if anything.

3. Anyone got the wiring diagram for the 4spd auto?

4. i am guessing this is the auto cpu but a diagram will confirm this i am hoping.

5. wtf is a relay cleaner, as per below pic. It is coming out but still wtf

6. what did u do the auto wiring, big chop or keep bits and reconnect?

Any diagrams could you email to nicbeeer (at) gmail.com
Thanks all.

Nic,
Just a guess but the extra wires on the brake make be for a transmission shift interlock
ie. you can only take it out of park with your foot on the brake

I found yet another diagram yesterday
I will send it to you, just gotta wait until I find it again

Took a punt on this http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... &rd=1&rd=1
See what it's like whe it arrives

Inhibitor switch stops the auto starting whilst in gear
As you have a manual this feature becomes redundant
