diff lock problem?

hi i just installed a rear lockright locker to my v6 4runner, now when i take off from the lights it feels like there is a little free play and then it takes off, is this normal for a lockright? what could be the problem?
toyota 4 runner v6, 3 inch suspension lift, 2 inch body lift, 33 12.5 15 muddies, front and rear lockers, snorkel, winch and winch bar, diff breathers, hot water shower ect, and continuing

Andrew, I'm absolutely astounded that you didn't recommend an ARB airlocker installed by a very reputable diff place close to you ;)
