I have a slight problem with my LN106 diesel Solid axle lux, it seems the LHR axle sticks out about 7-10mm further than the rhs. This causes the drum to not sit all the way over the shoe.
Would I be correct in assuming someone has fitted an ifs axle to a solid housing?
The other thing is, has anyone sourced an aftermarket flexible steering coupling? As a genuine one is over $200 and have to buy the whole shaft. But I haven’t had any luck getting one non genuine. (It has p/s which I know makes a difference with the whole shaft)
Well thanks in advance for your help

Re: Two Quick hilux questions
No, an IFS shaft is roughtly 1.5inches longer, I would be checking that the circlip on the bearing is still there and the bearing hasnt floated off.LUX90 wrote:I have a slight problem with my LN106 diesel Solid axle lux, it seems the LHR axle sticks out about 7-10mm further than the rhs. As for the second bit, dont know.
\m/
Sounds like something has come adrift i'd be pulling the axle out and making sure the circlip is still om there and maybe the bolts that hold the backing plate and axle assy in place are tight and also look at the rim width one may be 7" wide and the other 8" wide or diffrent offsets might also pay to see that the diff isn't sitting a bit sideways post up if all these are ok and go from there
plenty of parts on the bench
Pull the drum off and have a look if something is jammed or falls out when it comes apart, Another way of checking this is pull one of the other wheel nuts off the other side and one off the problem side if there diffrent lengths that'll tell you if the prob is the drum and axle not sitting right another thing jack that side up and see if it has a heap of end float (in and out movement) if all this is ok looks like it's pull the axles out and stand them up side by side that'll tell you for sure if axles are diffrent lengths.
