80 Series homemade winch bar options

Post by Bluey »

ok, i bent my crappy alloy bullbar about a month ago and thinking of ideas for a winch bar. i have a himount too that i want to fit

ideas would be appreciated on what should i do:
1. buy arb/tjm bar (wont be able to afford for a while tho)
2. buy a fat/cheezy/... bar (see above)
3. make a tube bar with/without top tubes. can get tube cheap too
4. make a winch bar from rhs/plate (basically will be copying Steve F's design he did for his jeep)
5. buy a standard bar and make a subframe to hold the winch behind it. would this look crappy with a standard bar on a gxl. can get one for $100, only has scratches comes with all brackets. prob get price down cause buying a axle housing at same time

any bar i make will be low profile with winch cut back into the grill.

cheers
