From when Moe put the crayon back in Homer's brain to make him stupid again. Never bought an extended warranty, never plan to.
Best simpons episide ever.
Extended warranties pay on laptop computers (motherboard #4 thanks Dell, 1 kept getting hot, accidental damage to other 2). But the rest are a load of crap and sales staff outright lie to sell their customers into them.
I bought a $2500 car from a dealer, he tells me I should buy a $600 warranty in case of engine trouble. When I point out that I could buy two spare engines for $600 and he starts to look embarassed.

I had an extended warranty on my HP laptop from The Good Guys. They say their warranties cover everything even wear and tear. If it cannot be repaired they replace it with a new one. I thought that was interesting. Anyway that warranty bought me two motherboards, screen, keyboard, two touch pads and a CD burner. I was pretty happy with that. Wouldn't get another HP laptop though.
My aftermarket warranty I bought for my Rodeo from East Coast Commercials bought me a water pump and clutch slave cylinder. Both died from wear and tear but they paid anyway. Only had to have the vehicle serviced by any mechanic who could stamp the service book to keep the warranty going (3yr 100000kms).
