i was talking to sam keck the other day he said he fitted one to a 05 hilus wich he did a solid axle swap to be really interested to c pics if anyone knows the car.

only my "homebrand" one been on for 3 months now and still loving it!
pics?
well this is my "crankylink"
these are 7" spring that it is dropping outta the hats
BTW they are 38" tyre that it is dropping below the door sills
hey ray thanks for showing me what the crankylink is capable off.
the x link is definitely the best mod ive done to date.
im considering going longer shocks as well cause my front obviously has heaps left in it compared to yours 736mm shocks vs 820 but i wanna get a set of custom coils first 5 inch 250pd front 200 pd rear to soften it up a bit more.
what shock length should i consider i was thinking somethink around 770mm.
let me know what you think lad.
cheers mick

In issue 97 of 4wd monthly there was a new hilux with the IFS cut out and a Dobbin Engineering cross-over brace (which looks to be similer to the x link) anyway it had the 80 series axle set up in the front and looks good..

the XLink display is doing the rounds now I think it is heading for BigBalls for the engineering day. If you are keen to see it in the flesh get over there and have a look.
Does the X-link affect the on-road handling of say an 80 series at all? Doesn't make it body roll more or anything? Will still as though you had a normal lift kit?
Also, why exactly does it allow or make for extra flex? Would it work on any size lift? say if you had a 3" or a 2" would it give you more flex if you had one, or only make a big difference once you get up around the 4"-6" lift area?
Just trying to find out a bit more about it all and how it all works and why it works.

hey lad i broke my rig before i got a real test but i drove 60klms to where i went out not highway roads twisty shit ones and it drove normal to me front swaybar on no rear.
itll work as good as the shocks you run ie the longer the shocks the more travel .
itll work on any lift 2-8 and beyond its simple.
crankys got a 7 and crankys running 820mm shocks.
ive got a four and im running 736mm shocks
the way i see it the principle is the same its mounted the same on a 2 or a 8 inch lift uyou could put it on a standard 80.
hope i helped lad you have to think about what you want to do with your truck do you want flex like me and cranky.
if yes buy one.
cheers mick
