G'day all. can anyone help me, is a 155 'F' motor head interchangable to a 2F motor?????

i might be mistaken but i THINK i read in this thread (it was pretty late last night when i was reading it) that he used a F head on his 2F..

i believe they will fit i gave a bloke a head from a 2f and he recons it fitted his cruiser which was a f motor i think the manifolds are different though
love the 40 series but now own a 80 !!

The 2F head will fit the F. Dunno bout the other way round tho.

Thanks boys for the answers. And yeah Andy,(Ironpaw), I didnt recognise you at first by your Outers avatar, but thanks for that link to Andrew Farmer in NZ, I will PM him, it may be more complicated than I thought.

And yeah Dirty Rock Star (another 3rd Rocker) its just that my 2F has lost a little power and gives a puff of blue smoke on take off , the motor comes out of a gassed 60 series which I honed, (and found it to be 60 thou over bored) re- ringed and did the big ends. so I reckon the seats, guides and seals are gone in the head. I have my old 155 F head here which had a little work and gas seats installed, and if possible would like to use it. And if there is a compression/power benefit .....Bonus....

Yes hj47, the extractors will fit the F head as they origionally came off it. Its just that the F head doesn't have a bolt on the front exhaust port, I might have to look at tapping one in.
