i'll be there because it's the victorian round and we gotta represent m-town. i'll be bringing a handful of skinny asian dudes to watch.

i think a test run on the property for a photoshoot would help the flyer sell.

Come on people We need numbers now get with the program. Are you all web wheelers or the real deal :?: Suport your sport either compete or watch its not that hard. Im sick of all the people that talk it up and when it comes too it all we get is all the excuses under the sun not to be there. Do you want this sport too die or grow :?: Cant you afford the $10 entry (come and see me) Come on Bogged :x Its in your back yard where are YOU. All you Victorians and boarder riders you should be there, now get on the back of the konga line and back it up. The entyre town is supporting this event including the CFA even the local school.
Where are all the comp people, its gunna look pretty stupid when my missus's stocker GQ wagon wins YOU PEOPLE SHIT ME.
Yep a bit harsh but I dont care, JUST GET THERE. :finger:
NOW POST UP
you realise that sort of attitude will turn more people away than what it will attract?
and as for stating that you are sick of people talking themselves up then coming up with all the excuses under the sun not to show up, just remember you have bailed out of things that you've said you would be attending yourself. pot/kettle/black.

i am no one of any significance whatsoever, but after reading that i won't be driving down for a look, and i am sure there would be a lot of other people who were tossing up making the trip or not, who just made up their mind.

good luck. the rock looks like it is good enough at least.
he's also finished his buggy at 2am, loaded it straight on the trailer and driven melbourne to bathurst to run a couple of stages, without any guarentee he'd be able to run, let alone actually get scored etc. just to turn around lunch time next day and drive back to melbourne.

I'll be there. Zook won't be ready to compete (read, won't comply with regs but if it would be allowed in i'd drive)

If there is a stock/touring class i'd probably give the Hilux a go.

with any luck i will be there in rods old tractor (now the MUNGREL) if i get it finished in time And also V8 zukis apprentice steve will be in his buggie if time and money permittes to be finished
(Hint hint haltech sponser needed) If all fails we will more than likely take the drive south for yet another great weekend on the national WE Rock callender So anyone in QLD keen for a trip south and need a ride let me know as i will have seats spair
One major obstacle that might let me down on finishing my buggie is the cost to tow her down to melbourne i may not be able to buy some new tyres so anyone in QLD with 37/38 treads if you lend me them ill carry ya ass to vic WErock and back?

I wasn't bagging people, I was trying to get people up and going enthuse or just get people to prove me wrong a bit of wrestling talk there is very little time to get things rolling. I am not setting the date, I am just helping to get the comp up and running and be the best dam comp it can be ( It's not my comp I was asked to help get it up and going thats all). Yes only 20% of people will come from this forum, so we have alot of other ways of getting people there, Most have been done or started.
1/ Locals CFA, schools, clubs etc ( most spoken to)
2/ Local media paper radio ( in the midst of doing)
3/ 4x4 mags ( talking to)
4/ 4x4 shops in Melb pamphlets etc ( almost ready for doing)
5/ Pamphlets in shops of local towns (almost ready for doing)
We have a core group of people that will be helping eg: VicKrawlers there are 40 helpers from there alone. Webbie said it best. I am excited about this as it's our first one in my home town and I have been travelling through the night interstate for many years now, just to compete for the fun of it.
Everyone that knows me, knows that I am very passionate about this sport and also know that I get very vocal about it, and say things that I maybe shouldn't, but all know that it's for the good of the sport. I wouldn't ever say a bad hurtfull thing about another competitor, I'm here to help anyone. Everything I said was in jest to try and kick people into gear - as we all know some need it. ;)
Wendle- I don't know what your problem with me is, but that's your problem. (a few words said and your out) :?: :?:
Again it was a gee up not a canning. If what I said on this forum (that has been retracted) has changed your mind and many others to come, I am quite happy to stand down from my position of getting the event up and running in Victoria for the good of the event so It can attract more spectators. (just let me know by PM)
Tiny - no probs I will send you a price list :finger: ;)
Shane- Thanks :D
Bad Religion Au- thanks for the support :D

Now can we all just get back too getting things going. :!: :!: :!:
NOW ABLE TOO SAY WHAT I WANT WITHOUT FEAR OF LOOSING SALES.

i don't have a problem with you at all. never have, never will. i still think what you wrote sounds alot more like a bagging than a gee up, but who cares, it's just the internet. your statement would have been perfect if it was made a few weeks after the photos were up and no-one showed any interest. a bit harsh after a day or so though? again, if i misinterpreted that badly, i apologise.

cool, I will pick the most expensive options and you can send it for free

seriously though, while I would love to build a buggy, I dont have the funds available, so I will stick to the standard NSW comp run for now and see how we go in the future.

one thing to remember is that many people trying to get into the scene are on a tradies wage, and can not hope to get 5 blokes working on a flash buggy with all the goodies, and it is going to take time for those interested in competing to get buggies on line and ready then they have to find the cash to tow them halfway around Aus and pay for the breakages.

Nice one cheezy, I've put a vote in for you for the next Logies. We're all friends here, and yes, it is the internet, and nothing should be taken too seriously.

So are we all going to get access to a poster like the one linked earlier?? I reckon thats a ripper poster. I know the shiela that owns seymour printing, so getting a few posters knocked up on the cheap wont be a problem. I'm more than happy to fork out some $$$ for it. Consider it as a donation ;)

i offered to print flyers etc for the last round and no one took me up on the offer

if you want some flyers printed send me a file and i will print and despatch to wherever you want them sent to, I work for a print company so there will be no charge involved, its just my contribution for our sport.

maybe see if we can get all the 4x4 stores in sydney to keep a pile on there counters.. there would be heaps of soft roaders out there that would not know about this event...

im pushin shorty40 to get the buggy finished... might have a slim chance of competing if i can push him hard enough.. :finger:

any cheezy PM me if you want me to arrange some printing & despatch etc...

So you reckon 3 inch stainless exhaust, and buy mandrel bent sections, and then use a safari type head or a donaldson? My father in law is a truckie and reckons the donaldsons are the shit, but a snorkel sock would probly allow more airflow and give better performance.

The local engineering place closed down a few months ago, so i'll have to chase around town and see who can do it. Do the welds buff out okay, so its got a nice even shine to it?

Cheers

I reckon about 90% of the business' in my town would bang posters up (gotta love knowing everyone). Regardless of who/how it gets done, i reckon the sooner we get it organised, the more advertising we'll get in, and the more people we can drag into it to support the sport. Country bumpkins love to watch people give their cars a good floggin with stuff breaking and panels getting bent........redneck yokels.... :D

Cool,we drove from Brisbane to Bathurst,Rod unloaded the buggie-drove about 20 ft and it blew the power steer box,it cost us over $1000 for the trip (not including new box and pump),and he didnt even compete.....now your point is?? ;) :P :D

Whats your point? You went there NOT knowing it was going to blow up after 20ft, if you had of known it was going to blow up after 20ft would you have still dragged it that far  He went NOT knowing if he was going to beable to compete because of getting there so late. Didn`t get to drive any of Saturdays stages because of how late he got there.

This isn`t having a go at you mandy just pointing out the differance between bad luck and putting in the extra effort. Yes I also know Rod puts in the effort.

Basicly there are some people that put in the extra effort for this sport and not many people realise.

We travelled down there to support this comp and to get the number of competitors up.Hell yeah it was fun driving 17hours each way just to be a number. :bad-words: Definately an experience to remember, you fawkers are crazy for living in that kinda weather

Yeah we knew damn well the buggie had a few problems and wasnt ready for it, but as asked, we towed it down so there was another competitor on the courses, we just hoped it wouldnt fail.

Well, I think you all got too Cheezy today as he was (for the first time) very quiet . I was there for 2 hours today and he said about 10 words the hole time. Im not sucking up here but I think he is pissed with it all.
He is putting every minute he has spare into the sport, I have seen him do things for people for nothing, just too help out the sport and people in the sport for the love of the sport. He SO loves the sport his family and friends and would never do or say anything too hurt it. Yes I am a friend of his and always will be.
My hubby and I will do anything too help cheezy get this sport in Vic up and going as it is the best thing we have ever done as a couple.
Cheezy is vocal and does say and do things he shouldnt but its all for the good of the sport ( we all do stuff).
Now lets get behind him and get this event up and going and be the best event too date.
Cheezy I know you come on here every couple of days, Chin up. :)
Rego SUCKS bring on the buggies.
