From a Td42, nice one. From a duramax...its been done in the states already. I wonder what it would be like to drive?

Good luck on your quest.

Hey Heath

Is this the motor that I heard might have cost the original owner something like $50K to build?

Cheers

But seriously I would be happy with a std duramax and Allison.

Some specs.

The motor is a LBZ,

Socal Stroker 7.1 billet crank, So its a 427CI
http://www.socaldiesel.com/SoCal%20Dies ... %20Kit.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Carillo Forged Rods
Mahle Forget Pistons 40thou overs so that makes it 437CI
Billet Flywheel
14mm Head Studs. the heads and block had 2 be cnc'd to fit these monsters.
Stage 2 Socal Heads with all the extras
Full ARP kits
Billet Main Caps
Socal Dampner
100% over standard injectors from socal
Basically everything socal does has been done.

Socal built the complete motor.

The plan is Compounding turbo setup with GT42X small and a PBK (phat barstard killer) as the large one. Should be about 2 make 110psi of boost. Front mount intercooler etc, etc, etc. Going with 2 standard fuel pumps for now but will add another when its required. I will be running 2 200gph feed pumps with 3/4" fuel line thru out.

The aim for 2 make 1000+ rwhp(hopings for 1150, but see what happens) and close 2 1800ft-lb at the wheels. Its going to be interesting to Dyno as massive compounding turbos setups are hard to spool and load on the dyno.

I want 2 run some 9 second passes. So its going 2 be tech inspected and i am getting a ANDRA license. I am fitting kirkey drag seats for weight Also a parachute will be required if the mph calculations are close

Cheers Heath.

for those interested in a big V8 with compound GT45 and GT55 ....http://www.dieselpowermag.com/tech/chev ... index.html

I'm seriously considering a LBZ (standard) for install into a 4.8 GU,

what are the chances of getting a quality engine from the likes of 'Diesel engine Trader .com' ? or is there another option to get a engine, trans and electrics?

What sort of money are you looking at?

any input appreciated..........

regards Garth
