Thanks for the updates Hobbys. Your blog on your website is great. You get more info on whats going on than on the offical website. Whats next? maybe you can manage doing twitter during a stage.

breaking news

Post by Hobzee »

Still waiting at end of point to pint between Denian and Viewmont -

Al Mac still not back and might miss next start - fire damage being repaired on track.

Lawrie Griffiths broke a front diff - split right open and a trailer is being sent to get him - just had a call from Mannie requesting MIG welder to be sent to him so maybe a track repair on the cards.

Hoon came in late (DNF) with elec problem and poor running - Kill Bill had to winch the front of Hoons car back into shape - there's a story there but dont know full details.

Andy Miller reports that he and Robbie in the Disco is doing great and that they will bring home the trophy and jam it up JPC's rear end for a laugh. They are doing pretty good too - had elec problems but still going well.

Hobzee you are a PR dream
Grat work and keep it coming!

Mud and rain sounds like 07 all over again! Will have to go and play in the sand again. Could be worse.

Huddy is under pressure now to keep the production class prize in OZ.

For the Rockhamptonites (and LandRover tragics ...)

Just spoke to Dubbya (Car 4) he and Graeme are marshaled at Poolamacca awaiting their turn at the mud/River run. They have drawn 19th so it will be very long wait for them ! Apparently the first car is on stage now - DNF is only 8 minutes. They had a great run at Arabian Nights pulling a 6th place for the stage - to say that they were a little pleased would be a real understatement. Finished under DNF in both GPS Stages today but suffered from an overheating motor - they reckon that they've got it sussed now thought - a little tweak to the plumbing and reversing the direction of the Thermo fans (rear mounted Rad) along with some repositioning of gear.

They did manage to run out of Fuel on the transport stage as they approached ??? (with the rest of the field) - a quick tow and 160 litres of fuel later all is good !

Dubbya is stoked 'cause he finally got the GPS sussed (before the event) and feels really comfortable and confident using it now. Fiddler has been an absolute Demon at the wheel and really enjoyed the sand and GPS stages too.

Hope to have a quick update on proceedings later this evening ...

The Next G coverage is awesome where the field is at the moment so if you've got friends out there give them a try !

The more info the better ...

Gearbox mismatch problems and winch motors burning out for an unknown reason.

Recieved text from Hobzee earlier tonight with the placings as per Krim's post and also that "Hoon has done his block" :bad-words: Will try to get more details on this but it doesn't sound good for Pete. His car and the OBC just don't agree with each other

It's still only early in the event but hopefully Lawrie/Hobzee & Max/Cosmo can keep avoiding DNF's and make it a 2 horse race to the end
