Cool,we drove from Brisbane to Bathurst,Rod unloaded the buggie-drove about 20 ft and it blew the power steer box,it cost us over $1000 for the trip (not including new box and pump),and he didnt even compete.....now your point is?? ;) :P :D
Whats your point? You went there NOT knowing it was going to blow up after 20ft, if you had of known it was going to blow up after 20ft would you have still dragged it that far  He went NOT knowing if he was going to beable to compete because of getting there so late. Didn`t get to drive any of Saturdays stages because of how late he got there.

This isn`t having a go at you mandy just pointing out the differance between bad luck and putting in the extra effort. Yes I also know Rod puts in the effort.

Basicly there are some people that put in the extra effort for this sport and not many people realise.
yeah mandi, that's admirable. my point was to wenle who was having a go at cheesy, my point was that cheesy DOES put in the effort to help this sport, as does rod... if i knew rod, and someone had a go at him for not puttin in effort i would probably jump up and down as well

we rock

O.K O.K O.K I think all apoligies have been excepted or brushed under the carpet as missunderstandings  :!: So in saying lets help our selves by helping each other to get this baby rolling as every event needs alot of genuine people to make them a success. And if it means that you have to wear aPOOFYjacket and miss out on bits and peices to get it to run smoothly well consiser yourself as being a part of our sport and not just a blow in spectator.
Any people or persons avalable to help over the weekend should make themselves know to Cheezy or Hobbsy.
These things don't run them selves so get in there and have a go
Lockers or Knockers ,both will make for fun.

Hobzy/cheezy I may not be able to drive rock - but I do know how to organise these things. Let me know how I can help. I do have a couple of idea's for the good of the overall comp scene that may be able to be incorporated for next year as well. :)

one good idea i heard that was gonna happen at the last round was tech inspections in bathurst. i was disappointed that never happened. it would be sweet if we could line up all the buggies in yea or the nearest big town. get them ramping on eachothers tyres etc...

its a sure sign that this rock crawling has captured the imagination of the BB when a thread, with a couple of pics, no facts and a whole heap of enthusiastic hog wash gets more hits than the Ateco Winch Challenge, which is without a doubt one of the best winch events, if not 'the' best winch event of the year.

this rock shit is going to be huge in a couple of years.

At WE Rock Bathurst we only left Melbourne on Friday night... arrived Sat morning and pretty much as soon as the rig was off the trailer we had to line up to compete!

It'll be nice to get some sleep before an event for a change... maybe I'm talking too soon...

He is putting every minute he has spare into the sport, I have seen him do things for people for nothing, just too help out the sport and people in the sport for the love of the sport. He SO loves the sport his family and friends and would never do or say anything too hurt it. Yes I am a friend of his and always will be.
My hubby and I will do anything too help cheezy get this sport in Vic up and going as it is the best thing we have ever done as a couple.
Cheezy is vocal and does say and do things he shouldnt but its all for the good of the sport ( we all do stuff).
Now lets get behind him and get this event up and going and be the best event too date.
Cheezy I know you come on here every couple of days, Chin up. :)

This was discussed quite a fair bit and in fact Sam K had it all OKed with the local Council to stage such an event in the main street of Bathurst. However due to alot of people at the moment struggling just to get to events for a Sat and Sun we opted to keep it simple.

I am sure that at Round 3 Sam is keen on having this happen.

Alot of the spectators that they get to the events in the states are from local comunities.

They do class it as a "TECH inspection Day" but its mainly there to create interest. It does not require every car to be there. The cars that are there are inspected and cleared to compete. Other rigs that have not been inspected will be done Saturday morning at the comp site.

The area should be close to the main part of town. An ideal place would be somewhere like Repco (or similar) Car park. An ideal store to focus on would be one that suplies parts to alot of workshops, mechanics etc etc. This way they could invite all there customers and inturn they would let all there customers know whats going on.

Its a great way to get the locals involved and active, which generates a great reputation for Rockcrawling and 4wdriving as a whole.

I personally would also love to see an invite sent out to say a Special Care school or childrens hospital (or similar) in the area. The kids could come down and have a look and i am sure most of the Competitors would love to take them for a little drive around the carpark.

I know this thread does get of track from time to time, but i think its great to see such enthusiasm for Rockcrawling in OZ.

If this Tech day is going to be in Yea, it could be held at the "Olde Railwaye Station" area. Plenty of grass and room for display tents, BBQ's and the like. So when are we going to get this thing moving???? I'm ready to start whoring it!!!!

Hi all,
I'm fairly new to this forum and tend to read more than I type (because my typing skill's are up the crapper) but I had to put a reply in. Having a event like this in Vic is AWESOME and I will be there for sure. I hope we will be able to download the poster for this, so I can print out shitloads and put them on every power pole I drive past :D

I can't find any dates anywere ! Can someone tell me ??
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

reading what pos wrote about inviting say a childrens hospital to the "tech inspection day " sounds an awsome idea but to expand on that we could also ask for donations to donate to the said charity for them also.

the charities idea is awesome. with a couple of media types present it could help lift the profile of 4x4ing, and also would be something different for kids that need a bit of a pick me up

when deciding dates, don't forget about the touring cars at bathurst... i don't wanna have to choose :D

October would be one of the worst months to have it in. You have Bathurst & Vic Winch Challenge both early October and then Nissan Trials early November followed by Woodpecker late November. Makes for a buisy couple of months without adding Vic we rock to it as well.

Yep - we are struggling for a decent date but I figger its better to run this event on any date as opposed to not running it at all. We are still tied in to the 19/20 Nov for the finals at Milbrodale so its got to happen before then.

So October and November is going to very, very buisy.
