Added pics
The bitch is back on the road - just
White 96 coily SWB soft top - I've owned it since 2000
First and only sierra I have ever owned, but I think it came with some basic mods when I got it:
A small body or suspension lift
Bullbar
Rollbar
extractors and exhaust to suit
Wider tires
Tow bar
inside all panels seriously fishoiled
Here's what I have done with it (mostly cosmetic/functional for a bush basher):
It came with the original soft top, which has slowly shit itself over the years so first off I added some straps to the sides flap with press studs so I could roll them up like the rear- worked OK out bush but had a nasty habit of unclipping and flapping around at 115km/h on the M5. The harsh FNQ sun f***ed em up more so I cut em off to make a safari top. The bar thingy that tensions the soft top gave me an idea so I set it up at the lowest possible angle making a semi-fastback with no sides. I reckon it looks cool.
Painted the bonnet and standard flares matt black
Added a jerrycan holder to the tailgate - fits perfectly
Added a nylon webbing jerrycan holder to the inside of the tailgate - now disassembled
Got another spare wheel bracket from a mate of mine. Bolted it on top of the existing one but facing inwards (only fastened with two bolts but so far works OK on the dirt - currently disassembled)
Blew up an engine a while ago so fitted a donk from an earlier model sierra (all I could get for under 5 hungy)
Removed the rear seats and fitted in an ex-army spacecase (thinner than the usual military footlocker one) and two 20mm ammo cans for all the useless shit I carry around - currently disassembled
Here's what I plan to do to it in the near future:
I have two doors waiting for the loving attention of the angle grinder and pop rivet gun (half doors)
Replace the seats
A mate of mine who owns a WWII Ford GPW jeep is respraying it - I asked him to add 6lt of US WWII spec Olive Drab paint to his order - the zook will then be a lovely shade of puppy-puke olive drab (OG-107 I think)
Have a custom built canvas canopy and seat covers built for it out of Olive Drab canvas
31 inch tyres
virtual lift
Jeep flares
Snorkel
Eventually, a G16 donk when this one bites the dust.
That's about all I plan to do to it - it's proven itself to be a highly capable little beast as it is now.
Then... onto the trailer - based on the WWII jeep trailer, but not quite so ... vintage looking
Pics - old pre-blown donk pics because my camera's not working
What I've been driving around for the past 12 months - 1995 Sierra with replica Willys jeep body sporting real WWII jeep hardware (windscreen, mirrors, etc)
