Well we have done our final test run on the weekend and have a short list of minor things to look at. Should have everything ready by the weekend in time for a wash and polish and load up for a 4 o'clock start on Thursday morning. :D :D

Hey Paul
Mate Gary and I are leaving Kurrajong at 4-30 meeting up with Max at a servo just out of Lthgow for breakfast between 5-30 and 6.

We are nearly ready just sorting out some drive line noise we seem to have developed, apart from that the truck seems fine.

Bugger you guys that are like all ready and prep'd... meanwhile we're both working flat out and not getting enough time on the car.. we'll be last minute packers i think!

Cross posted to both OBC threads
________________________________
G’day all
As per last year 4wheelingOZ online webzine (http://www.4wheelingoz.com) will be covering the OBC in as much detail as possible. As an amateur effort it requires lots of input from competitors and spectators. For this year I’m looking for any:
Photo submissions
Comp vehicle build ups and event prep
Competitor diaries
Competitor profiles and stories (and give your sponsors a plug)
Stories from spectators or marshalls (words, photos, diaries, etc.)
Everything OBC!

Any and all assistance welcomed. As the webzine is an online one there is no limit to the coverage or number of stories or number of photos.

As always, Im also looking for people to help putting the webzine together.

Cheers

Andrew
(see you all at the Show n Shine, night run and the Quarry  )

Well it took us all night! crazy how much you can get done when you need to:

bash plate, signwriting, new gear box / transfer rubbers, modified transfer gates to allow quicker shifting, re did all connections etc with solder, fresh crimps and 1 million zip ties to hold it safe. fitted rear mud flaps, tank filler, fire extinguishers, toolboxes, packed everything from scratch, replaced every brake line with braided lines, bled system etc, fitted beadlock wheels, coil retainers etc .... thats all I can think of but it was all in one night! been working feverishly all week but got called into work asap for 2 days so I then was suddenly a little behind! we will have a few hours work in broken hill on thursday but all is well.

GLAD WE MADE IT this year  post finished pic shortly

call into silver city 4x4 Bru and I'll give you a hand. I start helping out in the workshop on wednesday and Dennis and Julie keep the workshop open day and night for the duration of the challenge, as they enjoy being able to help the competitors out. If anyone is unlucky enough to need repairs throughout the week we will be there all night if need be and even give ya a feed as well if ya hungry. 2am BBQs is my specialty.

Thanks gouldy!

Great to see your truck ready to load too yesterday dooma.

A big thanks to kevy for loading my truck in the arvo. I was not there and was pretty worried that it would not fit as it is wider than the others with the exo and all!

Looking forward to a great weeks racing!

Good to see quite a few teams from group A returning again this year. Looks like Adrian and myself along with the Michaels from the States will be the only teams not coming back this year.

Paul & Shane - I hope you manage to avoid any winch problems this year and keep the 80 in one piece ;)

Peter & Jane - Fantastic to see you guys having another crack  Hopefully you stay away from Silver City 4X4 and get to compete in all stages this year. That can of coke I grabbed of you after the mud stage last year was a life saver :D

Celia & Eugene - You guys were always going to come back this year  If nothing else this year I really hope you manage to conquer the sand wall as it was heart breaking watching you guys DNF last year by only a few seconds knowing you have never completed this stage :bad-words:

Laurie & Sean - I really think/hope this will be your year ;) To still finish in the top 10 last year after having engine problems in the water (1 DNF & 1 DNS) and having to return to Silver City 4x4 to replace the rear diff really proves how competitive you guys are and I reckon you'll give it a big nudge this year

And lastly Laurie Griffiths. If anyone deserves a bit of goodluck it's you mate ;) I really hope the Bushie stays tough and gets through a full OBC for ya

Goodluck to everyone making the pilgrimage (sp?) to BH this year. I really wish I was going but saving the $$$$/annual leave to be there for the 10th anniversery.

I'm hoping to get reports back from Jonesy, who's leading a spectator group around, and Danni, who part of the media, throughout the week and will be posting them straight up here

If anyone else gets reports during the week can they please post up here also so those of us that are sitting at home wishing we were there can keep up to speed.

If anyone would like my phone number so they can ring through updates, regardless of the time of night/day, please PM me.

Goodluck everyone
