the manifold is standard 2.8 cut and welded, the pipework is just ally pipe with a few silicone elbows chucked in.
The ram bars tie into the front hoop for the roll cage so the firewall is left stock other than making new footwells to clear the tyres at full articulation. The lights are recessed behind the line of the bars so the first thing that makes contact is steel, the winch cradle forms the lower section of the front bumper so its pretty good for ramming whatever's in the way

I was in the area on Sunday as I was at the Ateco but I think I left a bit earlier than that as I had my 3 yo with me. There is another disco, very similiar to mine that was also at the event (and he just happens to live down the road from me). He runs 35 centipedes and has a cheezy rear bar.... why?

How much - ball park - was to toy conversion all up?

yep planning it already...if i can get somone to do the bar work i want done on the back and sides.
going to chop the chassis too and move the fuel tank up behind the cab.
cost aprox. $2500 to do the conversion...i was totally against the GQ diffs conversion because its major drive shaft angles which meant i couldnt lift it as much as i did. would have introduced a whole list of other problems like having to purchase new wheels, weak cvs, wider wheel track, more obvious to the tranport people that its not standard equipment.
so even though its not really worth it for the cost of the conversion...next time ill buy a GQ.

I could bore the crap out of you with pics - Ive got hundreds, what d'ya wanna see?
the hats a tribute to the greatest engineer of my time "Fred Dibnah"
Pig was built on the drive over the winter, proper English weather - crap.
the mrs came out to do her bit from time to time and did a top job in keeping coffee on constant tap and ciggs and bacon sarnies on a conveyor
starting to take a bit of shape
kinda proud of the back end, 36x12.5 Simex, Milemarker Type R winch, standard fuel tank, spall transmission cooler and still enough space to fill with recovery gear
big debate about where to fit the bottle opener (vital survival equipment)
the joys of soft sand and simex - endless air compressor was working overtime on that trip (well recommended bit of kit!)
sorry if theres too many pics - probably easier just to mail me at jez at super8racing dot com and I'll fire over whatever you want to see
Wait till you see what Im building now
"mouse" - its going to dwarf pig
Cheers

I don't understand the computer thing as well as some of you blokes so I hope the bellow link works. I can't upload an image of the red beast. No matter how many photo's I jam into that floppy drive thing, still can read them. maybe the photo's a too floppy for that drive.
