Hi All,

Just picked up this f20. I bought it from ebay sight unseen and so far It is awesome. It has had the engine replaced by the 2 litre 5R engine at some stage. There is a bit of rust in it, but not too bad considering.

I've also got a Suzuki LJ50 and the F20 makes it feel like a toy, (not that that's a bad thing!). But there's quite a few steep tracks here and it's nice to have a little engine braking on the decents.

It came with the doors, roof and a steel canopy. I need to find a bunch of parts, and there's a few bugs to iron out - then there's the rust!.

Here's a picture of the F20:

Well that was short lived.
I just clipped the edge of my garage door will the top corner of the roll bar and manged to twist up about every panel in the car! The body is toast.

So I got the car of my dreams for $500, then manged to destroy it in a week...
As Kurtis Blow says, these are the breaks!

Yeah it might not be as bad as I first thought. It still drives fine. Now that I look at it again it is mainly the RH rear quarter that is crumpled up. I'll have a go at bending it back into shape. Just a real shame as it was perfectly straight before.

Hello Im new to the site. I have a 1991 Rocky and need a new outside drivers side handle. No longer sell parts in the U.S. Is there parts still available in the world? Or do I need to a maschinist.

Hi,

I'm a new F60 Scat owner. You have lots of good info here! Thanks.

The Scat is a factory 4-seater and the only mods are a sagging 2" lift, dual fuel tank, battery relocation to the engine bay, and a crappy retrimmed interior.

I am working on building it up into a capable little 4wd, I am part way through rebuilding a spare engine and g/box (with disk handbrake) and I've started my collection of must have Daihatsu goodies including a PTO winch and lockers.

Here's a pic

...I'm planning on painting it orange though ;)

Cheers,

Fred

G'Day blokes. My name is Mark. I live in Yamba, Northern NSW. I own a 94 Rocky. It is a deadset awesome little vehicle. 2" lifted springs are going in next week. Outside is pretty much perfect. Interior is good.
Had to rebuild the rear diff two weeks after I bought it. All brake parts had to come from the UK. Expensive little exercise at over $2500, but the car is still worth more than I have put into it.
I like to put it through its paces, and try to go out once a week. Fridge in the back for beer - NEVER BUY AN ENGEL - and I am a happy man.

Hello all. I think I'm the only Daihatsu enthusiast in the USA. I am in Virginia on the east coast. I have 1 of each of the 2 Daihatsu models that were imported to the US.

1991 Charade 1.0 I3
213'000 miles on the clock
Owned it since I was 15 year old (I'm 31) still running. It will be my daughters first car. She is 10

1990 Rocky 1.6 I4 5speed 4wd
113,000 on the clock
No mods yet!! Just got it 2 weeks ago

Thanks for all the awesome knowledge on this site! There is no support for these awesome machines in the US. I look forward to being a part!

I am a Rocky owner in Iceland. It is the US version of F310 year 1991, which I got two years ago (2013). I had no idea what problems I was getting into having the US version in Europe when ordering spare parts . The reason is that the Daihatsu dealers in Europe can only look up the databases for Feroza or Sportrak, and there do not seem to be any Daihatsu dealers left in the US to look up the right parts for Rocky. Of cause, many of the parts for the Feroza (Sportrak) are the same as for the Rocky, but I have been hitting on a couple of parts lately that are different. If anyone knows of a dealer in the US with Daihatsu database, can you please post their address.
