Good to see the "bolton from bolton" Daz glad to see you made it home safely
I also spectated for the third year running. The spectator package was very well done this year (still too damb expensive for a crappy yellow tshirt!) But we did get to see everything that we could. I am only a die hard spectator but i was a bit disappointed to hear that the organizers had taken out all the ISS's and the nav test and all the other stuff that to me (a none compediter) made the event so special. After all it was suposed to be a survival thing. The only event of its nature that not only tested the car and driver but the navagation skills, bush mechanics, first aid and other stuff like the tyre changing and tent set up. I know that everyone just wants to see the hard driving but the apeal (for me at least) was knowing that these teams had to be able to do everything all at once. It was great to know that you didn't need to have the million dollar car to do well in every stage. What is left for the middle ground people?? Why bother with the long transport stages if the rest of the event is just another winch challenge???? ( don't get me wrong I am a winch challenge addict too)
Ohh well enough winging for me......Hi to all in the spectater group!!
Well done to Chip and Huddy, Chris and Neil, and of course Cass and Brad to was a great week watching them battle it out!!!!
I hope Brad made it home without too much trouble and his ankle heals quickly! Danni

HE STILL HAD NOT BAILED and he took off his helmet and radioed for help before climbing out the passengers window . I should also point out that he never took his hand off his truck till it was out .
I called him thorpy as he fell in the pool . And the funyest bit was some one had we all live in a yellow submerine on CD so it was played to him when he got to camp .

Scoring confusion
Here's the bottom of the scoring confusion ....
Max Baerlocher (Jeep 36) received Outside assistance but still wanted to do cliff hanger for fun despite points not counting. However, his points did count and by mistake the Kiwi's score didn't count as a result of a marshall recording the DNS on the wrong person's score sheet. The Kiwis in turn lost 58 points.
Can't blame scorer or organisers - they wouldn't have known. Simple mistake by a marshall made a massive impact on top few placings and people's attitude toward overall event.
Chipper still first, Kiwis now in second place and Hummer in third (again).
Paul V (organiser) awarded 2nd prize at a dinner last night.
