Richard was going to stand in for me at the first round as Adam and myself are going to PI for the Supers.
Now that the date has changed we will be driving which means Rich is looking for a drive. If anyone needs a vehicle his car is finished and scrutineered.

If anyone else wants to have him in the team then please PM me. Very capable 60 series ute with springover.
Scott, if you are still going to struggle even with the revised date please PM.

Cheers
Shaun

4 x 4 masters

Post by Suit city »

I went out to Eastern Creek yesterday and met Mark, he woud have to be one of the friendliest and proffessional guys i have met in the sport. The tracks are all finished, very well thouht out and will give some of the top end cars a definate challenge.

Overall i was very impressed with what has been done and this venue will definately give our sport a big push, i wish the boys all the best and myself and the Macarthur Club will be more than happy to be involved and give a hand when needed.

MOTOTRIALS
Display at Round 1
Image

What is MotoTrials?
Motorcycle trials is the oldest form of Motorcycle sport
Riders attempt to negotiate a series of obstacles without putting a foot down, falling off, or stalling the bike.
This requires balance, throttle and clutch control and good motorcycle handling techniques
There are classes and grades for all ages, genders and skills.
Mototrials is a family motorcycle sport. It is not unusual for fathers, grandfathers, sons and daughters to all be competing together.
Many of the skills perfected in Mototrials are essential in other Motorcycle disciplines. Many International champions honed their skills in Mototrials.

Image

The Bikes.
MotoTrials is usually done on special bikes designed for the sport. These bikes are very light, and well balanced, having soft suspension and powerbands designed for grip.
There are importers and dealers for all 6 major brands of Trials motorcycles in Australia, and plenty of beginners start MotoTrials on very affordable second hand trials bikes. These can often be found for sale at events, on the dealer or importers websites, or at www.trials.com.au

Image

MotoTrials Competition Scoring.
A rider “earns” one point each time he/she puts a foot down (a “dab”). After three points in any one section the rider may continue to dab or stop without incurring any more points. If the rider falls off or stalls the bike with their feet on the ground or if the bike moves backwards they are given five points (a “five”). At the end of each lap the section scores are totalled to give a lap score, and when the rider completes the designated number of laps a total score is tallied. The rider with the lowest score is the winner. A typical course consists of 8 - 15 sections spread over an area of varied terrain, with riders completing 4 or 5 laps.

I have some questions.. they are in the rules and just making sure that this is happening at round 1. others may want to know also.

2.34 ALTERNATING DRIVERAlternating between Driver and Co-driver for any Stage of the Event shall not be permitted, except for one nominated stage which the entered Co-driver must drive. Only the Co-driver may drive on this stage.

3.10.8 RECOVERYA recovery is when one vehicle requires assistance by another vehicle.
If a crew requires recovery by their team the crew being recovered shall incur a 10 penalty
If a vehicle requires recovery by the Official Recovery Crew that crew shall incur a 10 point penalty.
WILL WE GET A 10P PENALTY FOR BEING PUSHED OR SNATCHED DURING COMPETITION?

3.10.11 REVERSING PENALTIESReversing shall not be permitted on competition stages and shall incur a ten point penalty for each instance.
Reversing a short distance to relieve the strain on a strap during recovery shall be permitted without incurring any additional penalties.

Asking this as i know i will use at least 7 reverse per stage ? if this is the case it may be better to stop before i use a number of reverses

This may clear things up for us so less questions get asked at the event

thank you steve
