You know what it is - it's Web-wheeler-itus... you realise it's been a long time since he took out his little zook and now he is getting a little bit 'wierd'... poor fellow. :?

It's been longer for me .. and possibly even longer again for Pete .. Soon the patrol will be gone .. and I will never get to go 4 Wheeling again ... ... Hmm is that a roll of glad wrap ... :?

Post Weekend Update:

1. Did some work on the front bar - now it is nearly complete... it has some toob stuff hanging off it and sort of make it look a bit more complete. :)

2. Continued with the ordering of some bling spidertrax goodies for the car

I too have been 4wd clean for nearly 6 months now. The shakes and cold shivers are no longe yet i still feel the urge to get the Valiant dirty sometimes. Usually a couple of hail marys and a reread of the herald Sun letters section put me back on the straight and narrow. But I fear my compulsion to wheel may become too strong as the Mango nears rwc condition. I hope it is something I will be able to deal with when the time is here. Say your prayers as I'm a weak man  amen

I don't reckon a trip from Newcastle is probably warranted to see your bar Greg as Bling as I'm sure it is. I will have a camera and will take a pic maybe

Highly Bling

Scarily enough - if you have the new 4wd monthly - have a look at the Big Balls OffRoad full page advertisement - they are selling bonnet pins that are exactly the same as these blue ones... :)

BBO = Big Bling Offroad ?

Now that I have no inner guards I will be doing away with the cable so those bling pins will be going on.

Got busy last night and hooked up the big 6-thou' pou' winch up again. Controller box is sitting snug against the firewall in the passenger foot well (which looks quite neat).

The car is now self recoverable

And yes Yug - we could probably use it to recover you too :?

Finally got a picture (thanks Grimbo) of the front bar in it's almost completed form.

Comments so far have been that it looks like a smiley face, or at least a grin of some sort. Once the new hawse and winch rope goes on it will look a bit different too.

Your right about that smily thing. ;)

Is that big steve in the passanger seat? For the roll cage to be successful all parts of the body should be inside the cage especially on that tough terrain

My new winch hook is red too - so it will look like a mouth with the toungue sticking out a bit :)

Yeah it is... we had to remove the seat for him to get in there though :)

I think he's hanging onto that part of the bar work because we were about to hit a hole in the sand that would see the driver / passenger thrown forward a bit.

It looks sweet dude, well balanced with that extra weight on the passenger side.

I still reckon you should have hit that last section in 4h

Very smiley :)

any other shot's available?

How'd ya mount the barwork/winch? does it protrude much?

Any 'after thought's on what you could have done better?

Just dreaming about how I'd put one on my 'shelf with wheels'......

Keen to hear others experiences/approaches......

Check out the Cruiserkhana report in general chit chat.

Drewfus wrote:How'd ya mount the barwork/winch? does it protrude much?

The front is flush with the end of the chassis extension.

Drewfus wrote:Any 'after thought's on what you could have done better?

For the bar? I'd love a big stinger on it - but think that i would feel a bit responsible if i took the head off a pedestrian or something.

I would have - but for some reason the engine bogged down... must have been some extra weight in the car somewhere :? ;)
