I think presenting the car at least one week before hand might be a bit hard for those traveling long distances. Not myself Im only 4hr s tow away but Ive been talking to people willing to drive 10 plus hours.

Those interstate can present their cars on the Friday and drive the course ont he Friday as well.

I'm really looking forward to this comp. I cant compet (unless someone really needs a navi ) But I have put my hand up to marshall, and failing that, I'll be there to watch.

1. 1 minimum 25m snatch strap.

How many people have a snatch strap 25m long?

3. The 1st 8 hours will be the start finish register sign only.
4. The last two hours will see the track time register marshals at the other 2 stations requiring the drive/navi to sign and time mark.

Now that its only 8 hours long, you need to re-adjust the above rule.

As I said in a previous post, I could offer my vehicle for recoveries. However it would depend on what I have to drive to do recoveries. PM me if your interested.

Ill be definitely in as a spectator, I hope its worthwhile for them! Wish I had a helicopter to offer!

Maybe i'm a noob to the sport and i don't know what's considered normal fair game, but if i get drunk wanker spectators heckling the shit out of me again i'll be wrapping a shackle round their heads. I don't do that shit on the street to some stranger so i don't expect it on the track. I really don't give a fark about the penalty it's just not sporting.

I wouldn’t be worried about the penalty…. It’s would be the possible assault charges that would concern me. As well as the possibility it could be classed as premeditated as you first put the comment on the web

Navi has to walk this 5km every lap, holy sheet lol. And how is a 1st gear crawl for 5km going to be policed? (just curious, sounds like an awesome comp) be interesting to see how it fairs for spectators.

Have only ever spectated and from what I have seen its extremely prevalent. I think it just comes with the territory

best one I heard was a bloke giving it to Rob Chapman after a roll over(who is the nicest bloke you could meet) he just casually turned and said " its very easy to have courage on THAT side of the bunting, it would all change if YOU ACTUALLY had a car on this side." was followed by silence except my laughter.

hmmm... haven't driven the FireBug out of my garage for 2 years.

I would need some big pockets to carry all that recovery gear and crap... and really not setup for winching anything except my axels up and down.

I think the FireBug may become un-drivable at about 50kph... 30kph if I keep the 50kg's of steel shot in each of the front tyres.

This thread is too long - needs a better summary of all Q&A's maybe.

You won't be required to have a winch, if you can drive it all which you may just do then you are free to drive it all. If you do get stuck you can radio in for a recovery vehicle to get you unstuck and be on your way.

In my opinion you can easily win the event with a 30km/hr top speed. That's if you can drive it all

Reading your other thread and I thought seeing as the questions have all being asked in here I will ask mine in here

This event will include the longest and hardest creek runs (with longer bypass tracks for not so capable vehicles) and some speed sections. We will start at the office and head up to Tour Drive 1, down Patrol Track, half of Gonzo's Noze, down an extreme new creek run, then down the other creek run that we all know that ends up back at the office.

No offence but whats the point in this? if the harder track is blocked then who is to say that the longer track at a higher pace wont be quicker? And why penalise the more capable vehicles? If your really after the best of the best make everyone drive the same track.

IMO if I get spanked by a more modded truck as it was better at the course than I was, then its up to me to be happy with what I have or try and keep up. If your going to give less modded rigs chicken tracks then you need to have different classes or two races.

I understand the safety aspects and the sheer work involved in putting this on, but to me thats a good reason to do it right.

I agree and if we were to go with this format then it would be different classes however I am hoping to abandon that plan all together. Brenden didn't think there would be enough hard core people willing to race along the rocks.

Even so I will be running 2 classes. Probably those that look like buggies and those that look like 4WD's will be the classes. I don't know where to draw the line here.

In some of the sections we will have Marshall vehicles at a chicken track so he or she could move it if someone was badly stuck on the main track.

I spoke to Brenden about this so it isn't just me saying it. If you are not running a winch you won't need all the other winch stuff.

Once the track has been cleaned up and the boys drive the track we will know more whethe single seater buggies can drive it. I know some say it will be easy.

I can't speak for Brenden but I am quite happy for the process that has occured. This is a comp for the people not a comp for Shane or Brenden so I think it is a good idea to listen to people who have some ideas to offer.

That said, it is getting close to being finalized and fine tuning will occure where it needs clarifying.
