Yeah, it quickly showed who the drunken fools are :finger:

None the less, I think it is a bit harsh but I do understand why.
But I wouldn't go on a massive rant about it, especially because there are ways to deal with that, and still have fun  :D

What's harsh?
I'm not really a drinker but I'd think 15 cans a day is plenty. Lunch Friday to mid arvo Sunday. People have too drive home after all.

Yeah, that's fair enough.

My situation is that I rarely drink, so when a weekend like TT comes up, I want to make the most of it and because my missus won't be there, I don't mind having a couple more than normal

But obviously there are too many people who can't handle the drink, and believe me, in my job, I deal with them a lot :fist:

But getting on FB and complaining about the "new" rules does nothing but show that those people are the ones that probably shouldn't be drinking that much

Anyway, I'm looking forward to a cracker weekend and seeing you guys there

Why would it be different if your misses was there or not.. does she carry your balls around in her hand bag.. :finger: :finger: ..

I am / have been a big drinker ever since i was 16 yrs old but i also compete on this weekend and have for many yrs now so it doesnt really affect us competitors.. I totally understand where Petes coming from , His trying to make and has sucessfully made this event a Family based event, this rule might stop a select group from coming but in the bigger pitcure it will also gain more spectators as more families will feel safer to bring there kids with them.

Its either this rule or ban acohol all together, or sell it at the event like other motorsports events and it will cost alot more..

We do not go to Tuff Truck to be stupidly blind drunk for 3 days (you can do that at home) we go to watch some of the best 4wds in the country compete agaist each other for the ulitimate title.

What he said..

Im not a very big drinker, but I enjoy a social beverage. I usually take 1 slab of cans with me to TTC. Ill have a couple Friday arvo after setting up camp and Im hanging out at the show n shine, a few more Friday night at the mud run, none saturday, a few at the mud run Saturday night, and usually come home with beers to spare.
Tuff truck is about the trucks and the tracks, not getting drunk.

The last time 4wdtv did the DVD, he focused way too much on the drunken yobbos in the crowd, instead of the action on the rocks, and me as a 4wder and a regular ttc spectator/helper didnt enjoy us as a community being shown as a bunch of pissed bogans.

Id love to bring the family to ttc one day, but theres still too many dickheads that go just for the mudrun and to drink too much and be idiots for me to want my kids there to see that crap.

Hopefully, this new change will stop those people that come just to drink and be drunk. TTC is better off without them. Its all good to have a couple of beers with mates, but control is needed, and this is a big step in the right direction.

I say good work Pete and Priceys.

the bogans can party else where. Tuff Truck should definitly be about the trucks and the action on the tracks not the bad behavour in the crowd.
Please disregard my avatar pic.
Those who choose to drive in the mud do so because they can't drive the rocks.

It's never policed properly anyway, the amount of dickheads throwing glass bottles last year was a joke. 15 cans a day is plenty or just have one really big night.

It's not like it was a misrepresentation of the events that took place. I agree that there was a generous amount of crowd footage, but to say there was too much time focussed on it is a bit rich. It's a fine line to walk. Do you show that people are having a fat time (which in our culture means alcohol and getting a bit loose) and how much the crowd love what they see, or do you just show trucks with no real idea of what it's like to be there? I agree with the police presence, but I think they should be far more vigilant in dealing with cawkheads. Private security would instill greater fear/respect into punters IMHO. Especially if they were empowered to evict people from the event for being a cawk. But really, a bunch of tea-totalling, goodie-two-shoes as spectators would be dull.

I concede your point about 4WDrivers being portrayed as pissed yobbos...after all, it only take one person on a bus to lick the windows for everyone to assume it's a bus full of retards. But IMO 4WDTV did a better job than the current media. There are not enough YAWNS in B-O-R-I-N-G to describe their offerings to date...especially after they were so vocal in the scathing criticisms of Simon and his crew.

Duty of care would come in to it if you kicked them out but I reckon just tow in a cattle trailer that hasn't been cleaned and use it as a sobering up cell  I am sure that would teach a few people a lesson.

And you think the ones by 4wd tv were better? For some reason every aus 4wd DVD had shitty music and Witt no music you listen to Simons droning voice for the whole DVD!
