60 series rebuild......
Moderators: toaddog, Elmo, DUDELUX
Still going, got side tracked on a few things and have had a crap load of family issues to deal with past year so have been delayed some what. I do have a heap of pictures I have taken and will up load and up date as soon as I get a chance.
A couple of things I have done on the 60 that took a heap of time is to pull all of the dash out and rebuild the heater/air conditioner. I replaced the condenser and fixed all the worn out foam seals between the plastic pipes. Also I have the rear a/c and drink chiller between the front seats, so have had to move/replace the a/c pipes for them in the engine bay, bending up small diameter thin aluminium piping is a tedious process.....

At last I am up and running, most of the mods are done but some have been put on hold as I am quicky running put of time before heading off on holidays. Plus, being the spastic that I am, I was using an angle grinder with an aluminium cutting blade on it to do some work on my boat...... ended up severing the tendon on my index finger on the left hand (yes, I am a lefty) and its only 7 days till I need it to hold a fishing rod.....
I wont put too much on here, (takes too bloody long typing one handed) I ended up buying a Kaymar rear bar, but I did get the rear discs on and working. At this point in time I am very happy with the braking performance, (8x45mm piston surf calipers on the front) but the hand brake on the brumby rear calipers could be better. If I had to do it again? I would cut down an 80 series rear housing to 60 length and weld leaf spring pad brackets on to it and use that. May try and find some V8 Ford rear calipers to try if I can get them.
Exhaust, bought a Beaudesert Exhausts dump pipe, modded my 3" to suit, had to mod around rear airbags on diff housing too. (dont have on board air hooked up yet)
12HT is fully re-built as is CT26 turbo and injector pump.
I have just over 300klms on the clock now, no dramas so far....
axle widening kit on the front (IFS lux hubs) factory cable locker front diff, running 285x75x16 BFG A/T's and my speedo is about 1-2klms out on the low side at 100kph.
Fitted HID lights (high and low beam and spots) DVD player for missus when she whinges she is bored.
Will try and post some pictures tomorrow, took this one tonight but its a bit dark.....
oh, and here is the finger.............

Hey there Flyology, I'm the guy that bought your old rear wheel carrier off you a few months ago. Your wagon is looking great!! I still haven't finished mounting up the carrier yet - got started one afternoon and pullled all the rear bumpers off and then just kind of kept on going.......
I've just finished killrusting the frame and am about to start putting stuff back together again this coming weekend (hopefully).
Anyway, I just wanted to say that the 62 looks awesome.... at least a alot more awesome than that hand injury anyway.
Enjoy the holidays!!
