Yeah you missed something. Its a 60 shell on a Gq chassis.

Layto....
How bout a LC 80 on a GQ chassis?
And engineered in QLD???? Thought their rules were tight as a fishes a$$

What sort of mounts did u make for the body to sit on??? Pics would be good...
bosy swaps are not that difficult to engineer, even in queensland.

Especially when you taking the body off a ladder chassis, and dropping it onto another ladder chassis.

I believe that thing would be registered as a GQ patrol, as as far as queensland is concerned, its the chassis that dictates the vehicles.

No it is regoed as aFJ 62 because thats what gear box is in it & it is compliance as spring over toyota diffs even though it has a GQ chassie& diffs if I went for chassie swap i would have to reg the car as a brand new vehicle & comply with current 2007 standards to hard.

6-7 INCH LIGHT DUTY SPRINGS ....WILL SAG TO 5 1/2 INCHES BUT GIVE BETTER TRAVEL.

I spoke to an engineer and said that it would have to be rego'd as a Patrol as the cab would have to match the chassis numbers. How did you go about that, just chop the GQ numbers out and weld the 60series numbers in.. or grind them off and get it restamped???? didn't think that RTA/DOT like'd people playing with chassis numbers at all??? Would make for interesting play if you actually got a copper that knew a thing or 2 about 4wds!!!

The way it was done was recommended by my engineers the amuont of mods to the chassie is a lot & if it was a bit iffy there is no way it would get cretified and regoed in QLD thay are not very forgiving when it comes to reg on a car that has not been regoed befor in QLD.

Thats exactly what I have been told and i asked a Queensland Transport dude at the pits at bundal. All DOT care about is the chassis number. If it has a Hj60 chasis, its a Hj60, if it has a GQ chassis, its a GQ.

Your not doing a chassis swap as far as DOT is concerned, your doing a body swap.

Maybe your engineer has found another way around the problem though.
