I am still keen to look at this for my lil Zuk .. No change in plans, currently has a carb 1.6 and 5 speed pulling 235's .. I will need a new gear box at some point (getting louder) but I drive it so little it is not really an issue ..

I would like to step up to a slightly taller tyre (a skinny 31 or 32 maybe 235/85 16 and some t\case gears .. but repower is first on the list and EFI.
Its a no rush buildup Just something to bomb about in with my boys .. they do love a good "mud pool" or "big hill"

So a body lift is needed to clear the trans, That will work out well with the bigger rubber.

when i fitted the ca18det in mine i allready had a body lift but i cut a good 4 inch's of my tunnels height giving heaps more leg room in the cab as the box sits heaps lower.
i did widen the tunnel for easier install, which you cant tell inside.
i think that you would get away with just widening the tunnel you will need to relocate the transfer back and make new shafts you could use a long shaft from a lwb up front and set transfer to suit and only custom rear shaft and jack shaft

In a lwb you could swap you rear shaft with the fron won't need to customize it then

thats what I did to mine but is yours a lwb ?

if not you will need to have it made and it will be short so i suggest getting a custom one with a long travel slip joint and maybe even a cv joint at the transfer for not much more $$
