just a thought..
I was just about to ask if anyone had done a rear 79 spring setup on their 75?
I am contemplating doing it - if there are some tangible benefits.
Having driven lots of 79 traybacks I have found them to be a lot smoother offroad (partly due to the coil front end). The rear also feels a lot better than the 75s I drive. Obvioulsy the other aim is extra flex.

Badboy was it you with the u bolt flip kit? Someone has it listed in their sig line but it doesnt show up when reviewing posts while replying.
Where did you get it from? and how has it been? I have been wanting to do it for a long time. The big arse spring hangers just bite into mud and rocks too much!

I am in Canada now but am going to get stuck into the suspension setup on my 75 when I get back in a month or so. Will post up pics as they happen. Planning on 3" efs springs, 2" body lift and maybe extended shackles. Possibly even looking at the 79 springs for the rear too.

G'day all

Did some work to my middy, 2'' extended shackles all around and 5 leaves in the bacl, Got the front working much better now, the front will compress more and drop much more now. I used 60 series rear main and wrap leaves combined with my original front pack and a leaf from my rear pack, 8 leaves in total. Height wise it sits about where it used to with the extended shackles, maybe a touch lower. But shocks are way to short not. What are people with 70 series cruisers doing for longer shocks nowdays ? I reckon mine need to be about 3'' longer than what i've got, which is the length of a 2'' lifted old man emu shock. Also what are people using for rear shocks? mine are to short aswell

cheers

i'll let you know when i'm finished. it already has a fair bit of travel but it's limited in downward travel (mainly in the rear) because of the shocks. it has lightened and lengthened springs atm. was going to to a shackle reversal on the weekend but had to work so i didn't get a chance to start it. i'll prob do it in two weeks so i can use it this weekend.

hopefully by then i'll figure out how to post pics

Just bringing this topic back up. Got some pics of my front setup, picked up another pair of 2'' 60 sereis OME rears which i'm going to get reset 2-3'' higher so I can removed some leaves and get a little more height. Flexes pretty well without shocks in.
