Just got to see if it is worth me trying to pull this gearbox out myself or not... best quote is $450 + rear main seal + machine flywheel.. then maybe clutch master cylinder near gearbox done the one on the fire wall.

Thanks alot

Thats your slave cylinder, like i said before (i think in another thread), go to a wreckers and buy a diesel flywheel, and use a diesel clutch kit, they have a slightly higher clamping pressure than the petrols, and bolt straight on.

you dont even need to get a diesel flywheel. if you use the diesel safari clutch kit the clutch plate has a better dampning springs and the pressure plate has a tighter clamping force. this woll bolt straight up to your petrol flywheel. without a booster on the clutch it will be harder that usual but its all worth it!

just put one in mine and i love it! im not running 400 hp but it certainly gets used. :D
Cheers mate

I'm picking up myself a Safari Tuff clutch tommorw and getting my flywheel machined and they ordered a diesel clutch so i got the extra damping and stuff.

What booster u talking about as i'm not sure if i have got one or i may have one not sure.

I'm fitting it myself i have decided as i can see myself spending $500 on someone to fit when i can save that to buy other goodies :P But i'm pulling the engine out not the gearbox becuase i'll find it easier as i have done it before just may take longer..

Also with rear main seal and thrust bearing or spigot bearing or something were do i get hold of these and are they hard to fit?

Thanks alot

Rick.

Thrust and Spigot bearing should come if you bought a clutch kit... if not all of the above should be available from RIPCO, Bursons etc. failing that; nissan themselves.

rear main id go genuine, gary cricks would be the only ones one the coast they most likely wont have it in stock, but if you call them befor 9:00 they should be able to get it same day, if you have your vin number when you order it, it makes it heaps easier, and the spigot bearing where you got the clutch from or repco, etc.
