hi guys, sorry to dig up an old thread, but i've been looking for a bundera for a while now, and i drove one today with a 7m-ge
im no newby to power, and drive a turbo car as a daily, and i can safely say that this bindera was fast, really suprised the crap out of me.
also going the nasp route will be safer as 90 percent of turbo engine have been thrashed, and they are quite an old engine now, and old turbo cars are a pian, trust me i know
just my 2c

The 7mge was a troublesome motor in the head dept. Yes that can be delt with by throwing more money at it, but as it has been said...they are getting old and GOOD alloy heads are becoming scarce. It has no variable cam timing, and for the trouble and cost, isnt worth it, but...all bits can be found to graft one in from the supra, and it has the right name on it...so i suppose im saying weigh it up...cheap power....but if power is what you want...normal asperated 2jz makes more than turbo 7mgte std.
If your going to engineer it and rego it....thats the platform to use....turbos can be bolted on later :@)
ok

diesel lux runs w box, petrol runs g, both accept supra bell, apparently engine mounts line up...thats why its so easy to fit.

yer ya really need to find a Turbo 7m (7mgte) sump, oil pump, pickup and hardline and swap that in. You dont need to if you have normal shitty Hilux j-arm steering

Soarer's have the 1uzfe V8 or the 1jz twin turbo inline 6. I sold a complete running 1uzfe soarer for $3500 just before christmas so you should be able to pick the engine on its own up for FAR less than that.
Sorry Brian...easy mistake....a chaser has 2 doors too...just like your old Soarer....why have you got the rags on??? wasnt 3500 enough??
I must have been cut that day?

hey guys ive got a 92 4runner with 3vze which is on its last legs. which engine swap would be a better to do, like cheapest, easyer to install, good for power. stuff like that. the three engines i have in mind are 1uz, 7m-ge or a 2jz. i still want to run my manual gearbox aswell. and also what should i expect to get for my 3vze it has 270 000 on it and burns a bit of oil.
any opinions or info would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

My humble opinion is....rebuild the heads....1500 and away you go...any of the other options will cost 4k minimum and alot of time wiring things up....
Other options to consider would be a new 200 kw v6 motor from a camry/rav4 or a prado 4 litre v6....of the motors you mentioned, the 2j is the best as far as technology goes...they have vvti
