I use a zip tie at the section of belt that goes through the shoulder guide, prevents the belt from going fully into the roller, still allows it to lock and is heaps quicker to buckle in when under the clock or on a slope which tends to lock them up sometimes.

but if you start to float downstream wouldnt u want an easier exit from the vehicle. i got it bad enough will electric windows so most of the time when i am 4 wheel driving i have my window down. unless i have the AC on.

Only takes a couple of seconds to unclip a seatbelt, or you could velcro a seatbelt cutter to the dash or a pillar, they are even easier to use.

May as well not be wearing it?
its not to stop it locking, its to stop it retracting so that if your facing down a 35 degree hill you can put your belt back on as it wont lock up on you when you try to put it back on.

When i was a passenger i always wore a seat belt before i had my truck and thought my mates were idiots for not wearing them and it annoyed me bacuse i had lost a mate in a fourby accident with no belt. However when i got my fourby i didnt wear one after a while because of the auto retyractor, i wear the belt again now and just spend lots of time getting the stupid thing back on so like the idea presented on this forum for stopping it from retracting thats good thinking guys. I was thinking of putting in a belt from an old dato or something where u could just set it to a particular size but this saves me the trouble and the silly idea of going back in the design of belts.
