i had a look at the commodore v6 alloytec wiringfor drive by wire and it ain't to complecated, so gen 3 shouldn't be too different.

But no Fly by wire either
Must be off the earlier model
Would I need the PIM ?? I think thats what Its called kick pannel passenger side talks to the comp does security & all that other stuff

no you shouldn't need it, you will have to take yor ecu to someone with LS1 suite, or similar software to be able to remove the security and other unused things from the ecu program. budget between $350 to $850 for that.
