You will be able to run more boost towards the upper reaches of your rev range so long as the piping can flow the air and you can keep it fueled.
It could be fun, but a higher boost threshold (and a motor that wants to rev more) will normally require lower gears to keep your drivability.
Steve.
If it's a ball bearing one then he'll gain back most of the lowe end lost with a bigger exhaust A/R.
Hopefully Mundy will tell us after he gets it bolted up.

Good point, but $900 sounds pretty cheap for a desirable turbo if it is BB.
(PS, I'm looking for a BB turbo with no wastegate and enough flow for 150HP tops.... I'm also looking for the tooth fairy.. have you seen either?

150 diesel hp?
A T28 will do that, plenty of ricers out there welding wastegate flaps shut. It's a pretty ugly solution though.

Nah, 150 petrol HP- engine is a 660cc triple factory turbo, realistically I'd be happy with about 100hp but I have an external wastegate already and don't want to go too small, I have heaps of gears so I am ok with a high boost threshold- it's pretty much being built just to be weird.
I've never seen a turbo this small with no wastegate.

I'm no help. But if you go here:

Look for a guy who calls himself "UncleBob". He's turbo'd a couple of motorbikes and might know what's available in that size.
