ARB tyre deflator

Why not? You dont have to, it was just a suggestion and my point was more about escaping that time mentality when you go bush.j-top paj wrote:light a fire while airing down?Alpine Hunter wrote:Shit guys! Dont you go bush to relax a little and escape the whole city time freak mentality?
Spend the extra couple of minutes, light a fire, boil the billy and chill.
Totally understand the gadget thing though!
Using my 'gadget', I have more time to relax and not worrying about losing valve cores, or sticks breaking off into the valve stem.
Mine was around $60 also, from ARB Newcastle. They couldn't keep up the demand for them, I got the last one they had in store, and had a few dozen on backorder.

I just don’t get it...... the only thing is there's a bit of screwing around for each tyre (screw deflator on, unscrew valve, pull out lever, push in lever, re-screw valve, unscrew deflator) and in reality it's not THAT much faster than stauns.
All this farting about with unscrewing parts and levers etc etc while hovering over each tyre and possibly in pissing rain, when you can just lean over screw the Stauns on and go have a yak, slash or whatever.
I previously tested dropping the pressure using my old normal method of simply unscrewing the valve and testing with a gauge and replacing the valve etc on all 4 tyres. Then I did the same with the Stauns. Result 13sec quicker using the old way. By the time you do all the swapping around, screwing unscrewing etc this gadget looks like it could even be slower.
Can't see the point in saving 13 seconds or even a tad more when you have to hover over tyres mucking about removing valves etc. As far as accuracy goes, again I’m lost as mine all drop to the same pressure every time. Its not hard to set them all accurately and a periodic spray with wd40 keeps them free inside.
Maybe there is a larger difference with huge boggers but for normal tyres it’s no fuss Stauns for me

If you had used one, you would know its way faster than your old school method. And the rate of air deflation is extremely fast compared to the Stauns, not to mention heaps more accurate.ozrunner wrote:By the time you do all the swapping around, screwing unscrewing etc this gadget looks like it could even be slower.
You can't comment because you have not had the privelidge yet

I think its a privilege I will do without
My Stauns are always dead accurate and I can go have a yak to others while they're hovering over their tyres and screw with their concentration
