Engel, I've got a 40L and am using it as a bar fridge next to me now and love it.
I have a Bushranger and it works fine, but I wish I had spent the extra and bought an Engel. The LCD display on the bushranger melted when it was in the back of the car on a hot day. It was fixed under warranty but it's just another thing that can go wrong. I was advised by Bushranger not to leave it in direct sunlight in the car on a hot day. I have mates that leave their Engel on the tray of their ute and had another that rolled their 4b with the fridge in it and none of them have missed a beat. IMO go the Engel, or you can buy my Bushranger off me and I'll get the Engel.Tojo wrote:buy a bushranger, then let us know if they are anywhere near as good as an Engel or Trailblazer.
Thought it may have been that but multimeter test at the time showed voltage was fine...?DR Frankenstine wrote:It would have not worked due to low voltage in the fridge battery.....Yea I know your battery was fine yada yada yada.Dak Dak wrote:My father and grandfather have both had 40L Engels for years (the old green type) with no problems. I bought one of the newer (grey) combi fridge freezers. Has been great bar two occassions up at Cape York when I really needed it. Shut down on two occassions for around a day and then started working again. Took it back to Engel rep who 'tested' it over a few weeks and said it was fine. No problems since but was pretty peeved at the time. Doesn't give me a lot of confidence for the next big trip.
My 2c's...
how did you manage that?BOGAN V8 wrote:
