I maybe missing the point,.................BUT if you have a car to pull start it with, why not just use jumper leads.
Sorry re read first post. I think walking would be quicker.

i think he may have ment pull it by hand.
if he had another vehicle i think he would try clutch it that way

Rocky you've got a PM mate, I have a spare battery you can borrow and keep in the truck until you get it sorted
I've tried the reverse vehicle up ramps (and these weren't small car ramps either rather heavy duty buggers) and believe me it doesn't work

depends on ya vehicle and technique.. it can def be done. takes a lot less effort to rollstart a diesel than many ppl believe...
and if ya compression is down, its even easier

ive donw it on my jabber a few times, its not that hard to roll start a diesel
i did it in 2nd or 3rd
push start a diesel

why would ya push start a 60, they still got the crank handle starter in em, or at least the last one i seen did

pretty sure thats for the PTO shaft, not for a crank handle.

ive tried crank starting on a petrol 55 series, hard work but on a 4 litre diesel forget it, strap around the tail shaft "tell im hes dreaming son"
