Why dont you share it with us - eg a simple layout of what the mod is...

eg title of this thread - upgrade from 8 to 10mm studs etc...

Bit hard for me to ring you.... :?

have a read of this in another post ...

http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/PHP_Modul ... hp?t=40239

i have given prices and esplaned that i do a 6 dowel mod using 7mm dowels .

i think that putting 10mm studs and dowels is a good idea, but there is not enough thickness in the hub to maintane a strong hub . unless u made a steel band to weld around the out side of the hub approx 1.6 to 2mm thick . u wont beable to have a steel band on the inside as the bearing shell need that much clearence ........
(i have seen one hj75 fitted with 10mm studs . crack the hub from around the 10mm studs )

Have two mates who have done the 10mm stud upgrade. 80UTE from this forum has been running them approx. 2 years and he has a chev big block and runs 36" and 38" tyres without any dramas.

My other mate has had them on his 75 series coily for the same amount of time and he has a 350 chev and turns Q78's and hasn't had any issues with them either.

I think with correct maintenance procedures this mod isn't an issue when it comes to strength.

Just did this mod, a little differently though. Instead of using 100s studs i used 8.8 bolts. You just need to drill out the axle to 10mm and use spring washers instead. This method probably requires more maintenance (ie check bolts before you wheel or atleast regularly) but there is no need to get the axles specially machined or make up a tapered drill and you can get 12 bolts for $10. Just use a regular 10mm drill as you dont need to take much out of the axle to fit the bolts. Loctite would probably be a good idea on the bolts as well!!!
