You need the 16v vit starter, not the sierra one.

im using the sierra starter, ive ground the sierra one down alittle, cos the alloy housing is bigger then the surround if you know wat i mean. I was gonna grind the block abit but i went on here just to make sure wat ppl do  i've searched around now, the sierra one is so close to going in right! The vitara 1 is just more money........ rather make to suit....

If you want to be tight , get some grease (i used bearing blue), smear it on the block and starter , see where it hits , grind a bit away , you can take some off the block , its a pretty thick oil return gallery .

the 16 valve reduction drive starter is the right way to go though .

"she'll be right" - bad attitude dude...

if theres one thing i've learnt through my varied hobbies and occupations, its this: "if you're going to do it at all, do it properly".

if its a case of "more money" - then wait a while, save that money and do it right. just my 2c.

The vitara extracters just dont bolt on ive heard so i have to go custom, can you tell me where you got you extractors from and how much? I havent modded the passenger mount as i think i dont need to, it measured up same distance as stock with the spacer plate, would this be correct?

Edit: Just looked at your mount, did you move the whole base of it on the chassis?? i mite grind the edge off it now b4 it goes in i think.

Jimmy extractors are fine. The baleno head is the same as Jimny.

There's two jimny engine series.

Baleno's and jimny's powered by the G13BB motor use the same head casting, the principle difference are water neck placement and block deck height.

Jimny's using the M motor ( the twin cam ones) are different.

You need extractors from a G 13BB Jimny. There are a few suppliers for these. I have fitted (and modified) some very cool mandrel bent ones form brisbane

mine used BenTs adapter and only moved the drivers mount but mine were $180 and are vitara wildcat extractors. there are also 2 different extractors also, one comes down at the collector further forward then the other one.

think the code was 113 but not 100% sure, can check if needed.

G 13BB is single cam 16 valve.

M 13 is twin cam.

The only twin cam G motor was in the GTi.

I reckon the twin cam was introduced in the M motors to allow VVT to improve emissions.

Hmm - OK, I don't have a 16V vit head here to check with.

I never said baleno and 16V vit wouldn't be the same, only that I am confident jimny and baleno are.

I'm not sure if BluesSuzy's info related to 8V or 16V vitara so I only spoke on what I was (pretty) sure of.
