You really need someone to look at the data from the computer on the scanner this can tell you a lot like if the 02 is working the amount of steps on the iac motor, high here can indicate and air leak check all the inputs coming to the computer from the tps o2 etc etc this will help you work out if the computer is causing it to idle eratic of if it is some thing exteral to the computer that it can not control is causing it air leaks and any thing to do with the throttle body iac dirty or housing dirty can cause this, smoke machines a great to find air leaks if you know someone that has one.

Yes you need it on a scan tool, but you also need to look at the tune, the commanded IAC steps in the tune need to match the scan tool as this reduces the amount of adapting the ECU has to do. There is a table in the tune for IAC steps vs coolant temp and it needs to be right or it will hunt on start as you described.

have you cleaned yoyr throttlebody yet, or sorted out the problem, if you come to vic i have the tech one that does up 1999 vehicles
HZJ73, lifted,crawler gears, double locked, sitting on 35's
