Oh and it's got a GTi swift mottor too, so it has a little extra power. I'm pretty sensible offroad though and we don't have alot of clean rock stuff up here.
Just get a spare rear diff centre and slip it into the front.

This will work, but you will need an oxy torch and a
HUGE hammer

so in other words they dont actually fit? youve gotta pull the centre apart and literally swap the side gears?
And (without me being bothered checking the calmini website) they acutally sell the heavy duty axles seperate from the beef cv/axle combo for the front?
One more thing, Gwagensteve, I'd be really interested in seeing a tech/build thread on your dt front/vit hybrid (i think you said a while ago) custom rear diffs that you are building!!! (if youve started yet)

(although at that point in a build id be considering weighing up the cost vs. benefits of going some lux diffs & shaving them, but thats just me...)

The corect way is,
Just get a spare rear diff centre and slip it into the front.
My apologies to Layto I just reread and noticed he was refering to the larger axles oops,

does anyone know if there is any warranty on these strengthened axles or does it just cover the front cv's like most do ?

The strethened bit covers just the bit! Not the part further along the line that will break instead of the axel!
Thats why i just went stock again. there has to be a weak spot there somewhere and i would rather it be the axel then a locked diff!

Righto then, I think I have a spare rear diff centre downstairs. I'll just have to check the ratio.
