If you want to do a manual one you need to have a flywheel made apparently (second hand info)
I was lead to believe they required an adaptor plate but that's not confirmed. The auto is the same but i don't know about the bell housing???
nzdarin are you saying the bell housing bolts straight up or just that the auto is the same?

I'm really happy with my conversion. Off the line if there is enough traxion it will lift the front wheels, so when combined with the auto (I wouldn't recomend this conversion with a manual) you can roll up to a bog, then plant your foot and keep the front diff clear as you hit the soft stuff! To be honest it isn't that geat at high speed as it tends to get out of shape quite quickly, but that is probably my driving as well!

The chev will beat the VH but only untill you get to 450kw, then the chev's bottom end is maxed. The VH is good around 700kw but you can't do that without decompressing. Apples with apples. The Chev is 5.7 compared to 4.5 so it should produce alot more but in reality they are very similar. It is a case of high tech compared to low tech cubes. They end up the same and it is the end result that matters.
You have to remember the chev is decades old, all they have done is make it out of alloy and inject it. It gets the result but if it had the same specs as a VH then it would be producing far far more.

As for something different. The new Audi 4.2TDi has 260kw and 760nm out of the box! What can you do to that with only a chip etc?

You need the VH bellhousing torque convertor and input shaft as they are different. I had both autos so just used the Patrol auto as I'd already modified that and got the VH shaft etc fitted to it.
The other good thing is even with the VH it still uses a standalone trans computer so it is very simple to make them work. (or do manual valve body like I have)

Advan Performance Centre in Sydney do an adapter to it an RB Skyline manual. One of those things, it is a very good motor so it is becoming easier to do thing as more are used.
