Have now owned a petrol/lpg and a diesel 4wd and the lpg is cheaper to run although in melb lpg is cheaper.

Unless your doing a lot of real remote touring 90-100l of usuable gas and 70l of petrol is fine. In robe i was using around 29l/100km on the sand with LPG and prob around 26l/100km on petrol which gives me a range of around 560km of 100% beach driving giving it heaps!!! I'm pretty sure you could find somewhere to fill up in that time or just carry a couple of jerrys. On the road i can get around 680km easily on my lpg and petrol without jerries.

My uncle has an auto 80series on lpg and besides getting the valves done every so often it has served him well and goes better than the equiv Nissan.

I would test drive an 80 series and a GU already on gas as 90% of them are anyway. Which ever one u like better buy.

Jimmy

PS: I still think lpg is a lot cheaper to run than a diesel, especially if your mainly using it as a daily driver in the burbs.
