So the high steer arms are shorter then the original intregal cast hub units ? or they work from behind the housing ?

dont get what u mean?

when u move your diff forward (zbar guys) dosent the zbar rub on the tierod? is this what stoping u moving it futher forward?

with the high steer they wont hit each other

Our hi steer kit has been thoroughly tested and has never had a failure.

This was not our first design for the hi steer on the suzuki, we machined up quite a few different arrangements and tested them also. We have made a hi steer kit that mounts off of the kingpin bolts (the 4 on the top), the problem with that design is that the knuckle in that area is quite thin. We tried running the standard size 8mm studs but they are too small and snapped. We increased the size of the studs to 10mm but then either the studs would snap or the knuckle would crack. With the 8 and 10 mm stud set ups we used cone washers.

As i said previously, we have thoroughly tested our hi steer kit, as we do with all of our products, and never had any problems what so ever.

We have fitted them to a vehicle that was then passed by an engineer. I am almost certain Overkill has fitted them to vehicles that have then gone on to be engineer approved also.

IS it at all worth while picking up all 6 mounting points ?? so you have the 4 kingpin bolts (use 8mm studs) as well as using the caliper mount, so you have it mounted in two planes ?? or it that simply overkill ??

alos have you seen the spidertrax ones that pic's up the old mounting point as well .??

We found that it wasnt necessary to pick all 6 points to mount from.

i havent seen the spidertrax set up. Do you have a pic of it?

Just thought i should add that i am no way trying to argue with anyone, just trying to answer some of the questions raised about our hi steer kit.

My concern with that mount was never designed to deal with stress in that plane .. it is also made from quite a brittle metal so if it were to fail it could possibly do so in a catastrophic manor .. (more than likley wont, but its a possability )

Thanks for answering my questions clearly and concisely mick, I think the whole hi steer/ Z link debate is more emotional than Ford v Holden and early comments about running cars with Zlinks off the road didn't help to keep some of the combatants calm & combatants .
