Things aren't looking good for our entry at the moment. I blew a head gasket today. I've started to pull stuff apart but at the moment I've got the gasket to do plus a new driveshaft, radiator, skid plate and pack food and clothing etc.

Looks like it will be a late one tomorrow night

Yeah but do you you have a shed? I don't!

I got home (after skateboarding to and from train) after work and spent about 2 hours in the pouring rain putting up a tarp but the rain was just too heavy and almost horizontal so we called it off until this morning.

By 10am we realised that my head was farked. So $600 later I had a new one from repco and took the rest of the day to fit it.

The result is that I'm ready to run and we will be going up tomorrow (leave home at 5am to try and run the one sunday stage and have a bit of a play.

All good fun!

There were only 2 vehicles without window nets, both were jeeps with plastic windows in the the up position, gloves are optional.

A good event even with the bad weather, thanks to all who can along.

some pics http://www.4wdlinks.com.au/gallery/2004asccrd1

We did crap on the first two tracks due to breaking off the air pressure switch for the lockers  couldnt fit a spare as the threaded section broke off in the airtank threaded hole.
scored 135 for track 1 and 90 for track 2
did well in the gorge run...equal first for four of us.
In the vertical assault we got to the last hill [nugget hill]and drove up the first bit with the huge hole before the log, got to half way until belly'd out on a rock, reversed back a bit and drove round it to the top and we were winning at that stage but jimmy b rock stacked the big hole before the bottom log and drove up in one go.....bugger
buddah broke a rear axle on the log and les also broke a rear axle in the same spot a bit earlier.
thats the same spot where i broke a rear axle last year and i was very worried about doing it again.
had a play and tried to drive the dogs bowl and the log wall while waiting for the other competitors to turn up for the vertical assault but despite numerous goes and and giving it heaps i couldn't get up...bee bee made it up later on though...the only one to do so :D
was a great weekend and my only damage was the air pressure switch and i broke a rear mudgaurd off...oh, and broke the tailight assembly in half
