Antt, go down to ARB southside and buy a pressure cutout switch, these are for the ARB's but around 100psi is a safe pressure, I've tried the local auto lekky suppliers, none of them seem to have them around that pressure. Then you can just wire it up with a relay and switch to trigger the compressor clutch. Cake. small piece.

if you wanted a non adjustable one then just go to arb and buy one should be $35 or was when I got mine, for other ones I dunno ask parker/enzed .. be quicker and easier

so is that switch adjustable?

chimpboy- ended up getting a tank bout 75mm diameter, by 1m long. runs along the chassis perfectly. oh and got it off a mate, so didn't cost nothing ;)

I use a Unica comm.... been running it for over 12mnths without a problem!!

problem with truck supplies is the tanks are tooo big for 4bys...

Q air tools (?) sell some vry cool switches for air shite... but the ARB sensor is by far the cheapest at 35 buks

Landy man had some pics of a vry cool idea for running arb airlockers without using the std arb reglator or some shite...

If you find a truck wrecker that specialises in light trucks there are tanks that aren't too big. I've got a ute so space under the tray was not too much of a prob. Mine is around 20cm in diameter and around 50cm long and that was one of the bigger tanks that I had to choose from. The wrecker I went to had about 50 in a pile and some were in better knick than others. And as I said in the first comment, the best thing is that it was really cheap at about $15.

Yes you definantly need to install a tank to run a rattle gun properly. On my GQ Diesel,

I use 2, 40L and a small 5L tank . One 40L tank underneath and a second behind the cargo barrier on a removable carrier. An Endless air fills the system via 5/8 braided hose to a Wabco unloader valve and Wabco air brake air dryer. This then goes to a 4 way valve which allows the compressor to fill the first tank to a preset pressure before filling the second tank.

There are outlets at the front and rear each fed from one of the two tanks. The small 5 l tank runs the difflocks and is fed from another outlet on the 4 way valve then regulated down for the difflocks. The cut-in pressure is 115psi and cut-out is 125psi. With the system up to pressure, there is almost enough air to pump up 2 35x12.50 BFG's from 15 to 35 psi before the compressor starts pumping. When up to pressure, the compressor keeps pumping, but pumps out via the unloader valve. When running at rated pressure, it takes about 1min per tyre to fill from 15-35 psi.

I used 40L International Truck air tanks as they have the drain valve on the front face of the tank rather than underneath where it can get ripped off. You can get these type of tanks with 2 compartments also in the same size.

Ive run the Sanden 508 for years all i done was fill the sump 1/4 full of light compressor oil and the compressor inlet draws clean oilmoist filtered air from the rocker cover. the discharge hose i use is a Parker "SST" S/steel braided teflon liner hose and a check valve at the tank so when the compressor fires up its not under load for a few rev's. I drain the tank after a year and get a few capfuls of engine oil and thats it.
Has worked for years and never had a problem.

ANTT - I use this switch for my setup. It works fine with 12V - the voltage doesn't matter - and it is FULLY ADJUSTABLE - by adjusting the tension of the springs. I set mine up to stop the compressor at 120psi and start it again at 80psi.

thanks mate, i spoke to rolly off the board recently and he too runs the same switch, so i may as well stick with what i've got.
