Funny you say that lol have you checked the thread I started recently on extending wheelbase? I moved the front forward about an inch yesterday. Will move the rear diff back when I get time.

why do a ute chop just buy a ute like i did and look at the wheel clearance ive got (though they are only 31's) and im thinking about putting carry springs in the back and moving the diff back as much as l can

my main reason was i had a banged up rear end and i had some worn out boggers.... i looked at the nine inch grinder and thought.... this will be good for a laugh....

I thought the carry springs were shorter than the rears, but longer than fronts?

From memory mine was around 3-4" extension in the rear and RUF + 1" in the front.
You'll get more benefit by stretching the wheelbase in the FRONT than the rear.

Yeah I guess the front way forward would really help weight distribution if you got the axle in front of the motor. But that said without some serious work to the front end (chassis ext, longer springs, cut gaurds, cut/custom front bar, Steering mods) it'd be hard to get much more than an inch wouldn't it? With the inch forward my wheel sits pretty centre in the gaurd now, much more forward and I'd have to cut a bit out of my bullbar.

Why chop when you can cab swap! lol
and no the rear wheels dont foul on the cab, 2" cab lift and half way through SPOA

I think the benifits of the longer wheelbase have already been mentioned as to why chop it and not cab swap. In your case I woulda kept the LWB and used the SWB for parts.

Redrill your spring plates at least to gain a bit more wheelbase too.

Z-link is evil, get yourself a high steer knuckle, or at least merc arms. Did you adjust your caster. If you did not set correct caster you will have a terrible handling car. SPOA is good, but only if done right.
Layto....

Put some WT diffs in SPUA form and you'l fix all your problems, hight, flex, and most importantly narcolepsy
