Fair call - longer brake lines will also perform the job.
Things to consider though are:
1. you will have more brake line dangling around to get stuck on things
2. the longer your brake lines, the less effective your brakes are (unless you change to a bigger master cylindar).

:cough: because your car has no flex :cough:
Guy - the custom shock mounts are there for 2 reasons:
1. To get the shocks back over to where the axel now sits.
2. Because the extra travel from the springs will require that you run a longer shock in order to make use of that travel. Expect more droop - and therefore expect to require a longer shock (with a longer fully compressed length too) which will require a new shock mount.

Interesting - so it moves the rear mounting point backwards - rather than extending the chassis and moving the front mount forwards.
This is a bit similar to what red zook has on his sierra to run longer springs in the rear...

So could you reuse the original shock mounts.
How much longer brake lines would be needed.
Is that the RRO kit??
cheers

I think both these questions would be answered by what springs you decide to use in the setup...
The more droop you get - the longer you will need your brake lines to be, and the longer your shocks need to be too.

At the start I will be using factory shagged springs and then upgrade to 2" west coast suspension springs when the funds are there.

In that case - the thing to do would be to not replace your shocks (if possible) until after you get the springs in there that you are going to keep - otherwise you'll be buying shocks over and over to get the right lengths... and that would just be silly

last 2 trying to see the difference it is really a thing of feeling the difference the front is so much softer now mod the back tomorrow
yes this is the RRO kit also have the bolt on front shock mount kit to fit and the bolt on back mount kit to fit both from RRO

Looks good Camo
And the ugly (read: Hawiian) shirt in the engine bay just finishes it all off
Note: i gather you are yet to flex it up then - i'm interested to see the difference that the bigger bodylift makes compared to what big steve, grimbo and myself have had to cut out of the front end to make that tyres fit...

Mod the back tomorrow??
I have thought about this and might do a 1" shackle extension as well at the same time.
Is this saying you have bought and fitted the RRO shock mount kit as well?
cheers

Hey Nic
Before upgrading to the west coast springs PM Badooky, as he is running some on the front. He should be able to give you a good first hand opinion about them.

Hey camo, looks good mate, what springs did you put the kit on with!
I was lloking at the shock mount kit aswell, what are you thoughts on them?
Also how long did it take for the gear to come over from RRO.

Also Nicbeer, the kit looks pretty simple and could probably be replicated quite easily. Should maybe order one and I got a mate who could replicate one of them for bugger all and would cost a 1/4 of the price.
Something to think about!!!

I will Pm him, thanks.
If you want to order the kit and maybe the shock mounts I dont mind handing over some $$ for a replica.
PM me if you want.
cheers

Well I got a reply from RRO, I thinks most of it has already been established but any way he said
1)bump stops and shocks do not need to be modified
2) no issues with steering
3) it can be used with lifted or stock springs.
Sounds good to me. Just waiting on those pics Camo!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't see how those tyres aren't going to chew the hell out of everything. It doesn't appear that it has moved the wheel forward enough to not clear the firewall. We get contact on the firewall even with the axle forward about 1.5" and cutting.
I'd imagine that this would be a good setup on a ::shudder:: SPOA as it doesn't comprimise approach angle and with the axle moving forward under compression but SPUA I reckon the chassis extension is the way to go. IMHO

it just touched the fire wall when i flexed up but did not touch the front at all
i used stardard second hand rear srings $40 for the 2
i am thinking of getting custom main leaves made and running orbit eyes(bollock joints you know what i mean) and getting the centre hole moved towards the front by 50mm change the lenght from 40" eye to eye to 43' eye to eye with orbits and 2' longer custom shackles and centre pin moved forward 50mm
i was thinking about getting some copy's made up to sell here but am not sure if i will get my arse kicked for it
have not fitted the shock towers yet as i dont have a drill bit big enough

hahaha - mr sensitive...
Check out Big Steve's steering wheel setup - it has a 100mm (i'm guessing) spacer under it to get it further away from the pedals - this means more leg room...

More so I can heel/toe the pedals.
P.S. Those rims way out bling the steering wheel.
Nice tyres too

Have been searching and reading and found this thread. Im thinking of ordering the RUF kit from RRO as talked about here. All the pics of the install have now disapeared, was wondering if anyone had any lying around.
I will be running OME 2inch lifted springs with this kit, as well as sum extended shackles. Either 1 or 2 inch? any recomendations?
Did anyone get around to making a similar product, or know of one available here in Australia? If so would be very interested to here about it.
Thanks Emu
