even if it bumps up to 30L/100 (which going on Carts's measurements is achievable), your still paying less than 1/2 price per litre. $20 per 100 vs $31 per hundred going on Adelaide prices atm.

gas would b good but i dont have a spare $3300 for the install its self

a 1hz sounds the way to go

Rumours are the rebate is going to disapear soon.
I just had mine converted 3-4 months ago, bloke was having a special cost me $600 and he took the rebate off the price, deducted the 2000 out of my account 3 weeks later after i got the rebate from the gov

Now paying $59 bucks for 90l of gas an that gets me bout 360k's round town compared to $128 for 80l's or petty which gets me 400k's round town. so saving bout $62 every 400k's. Its already payed for itself.

Look round, few people offer a deal where they take the rebate for payment after they have installed it.
That or save a grand an put the rest on the card if you have a 50-60 interest free, only takes bout 2 weeks to get the rebate.

My BJ74 3.4td gets 14lt/100km round town.

around town in the middy I get 27.5L/100km on gas, petrol ~80L to do 150km, glad gas is cheap!!

which one the petrol or gas ? used to get 350km a tank on gas till I went 33''. And the petrol well, electric fuel pump and no return line does that, need to fix that, but once she gets a few revs up she really roars along!!

looks like gas is the way to go for the future. Up here in NT we have the most expensive fuels of all kind in Australia, couple that with having to drive a fark load to get any where and it gets a bloke thinking on how to save a few $'s on juice.

You blokes running the petrols and gas ........ ever have any dramas with water crossings ? That was my biggest drama with my old petrol lux.

the petrol, that's over 50l/100km!! (the LPG is unspectacular too). your engine will die a quick death running that rich, the oil will get diluted and the bores will start to score.

lucky I rarely run petrol then! Avoiding washing the bores, the gas, well its dryish, atleast the bores wont glaze, probably helping the rings seal again ahah. Really should get it tuned sometime soon and adjust the valves.

My family's cars:

between 12 - 13 L/100km in HJ60

about 11L/100km in the 3L hilux

about 6L/100km average (4 on the highway, 8 in town) in the hdi Peugeot 406

Most of your need to see a mechanic! anything over 15L / 100 is too much and 18L /100 or more is just plain stupid.

My HIlux 3L turbo (low boost) gets 9L per 100k every tank. but i drive like a nanna - cuase fuel costs to much, if it didnt look like i was going to get 9L / 100 i would get out and push it for as while

ok my old 75 ute with a worked 308 use to average 35l/100k's and when it had the holley 600 carb it was around the 40l mark. 70l of petroll would get me about 200k's if i drove it nicely.

In my HJ60 , 33 x 12.5" x 15" x 2+" Lift, driving to work i can get 12L/100KM's

If i give it heaps i end up with around 14L / 100 km's.

On the highway if i don't overtake it gets down to about 11 ? but it all depends how it's driven

13 - 16 litres on highway
16 - 20 litres around town
20 - 25 litres driving on soft inland sand tracks on frazer island
25 - 31 litres driving on soft inland sand tracks on frazer island in low range

100 series 4.5 petrol Auto, 33's,bullbar,winch,etc = heavy / aerodynamics of a brick.

Just converted to gas 500 km ago, so far figures are

Petrol - 20lt per 100kms = $34.00
Gas - 25lt per 100kms = $14.50
Both Highway figures. Wont take me long to pay off the $925 for the gas conversion. Thanks Ruddy
Never did like greenies until they decided to give me $2000 for saving the environment with my 75% less emmissions from gas crap.

33's I'm on 13.5L/100km or 7.5km / L.

31's My best was 10.6L/100km

11's with that setup is impressive Dan.

1986 yn67 lux.4y petrol. 2" spring, 2" body, 33's and i drive to brighton (north side brisbane) everyday from Currimundi on the sunny coast and am averaging 11L/100Ks. But that is straight up and down the highway.
If i pick up a mate in redcliffe then those figures go to apprpx 14L/100ks

80 series with injected 304 37,s and std gearing gets 18l/100 on hwy
or 22/100 around town

My 05 diesel SR5 D/cab Lux 9.5lt/100km.

And my 04 JX Jimny 10lt/100km.

WOW thats impressive! I have just brought (on firday) a 3L turbo, running 12 psi, 35s with 4.88 diffs and so far have got about 200kms from half a tank = 16L/100kms! Thats a bit of town driving tho and not real easy either

Just wondering what tyres, boost, diffs you are running, have you had it dyno tuned or what?
Id LOVE to get that figure from mine!!!

With 35s, 4 inches of lift and extended shackles I get 13L/100km in the city.

My Truck i run
4.88
37" Tires
355 V8 Injected
T700 Auto
4x4 to 90 Litres i get about 80-100Km's
on the free way i get about 18L/100km's which isn't too bad for a comp truck

The car was dynoed about 5000k ago when i first got it.

I normally get 180k out of the first qtr, 330 out of the first half a tank. 200 is poor. but your running a pretty high boost for a 3L. IM only running 5psi (until i work out how to get some more boost that is ) so chances are you have more power and thus use it which in turn is using more fuel.

16L per 100 out of a car as slow as a 3L is dissappointing, how long has it been running 12 psi? could it be damaged?

Ive got a Disco 2.5TDi and it gets over 900klms per 90L tank for the past 18mths. But I get there very slow and drive very easy.

Thinking of getting an "80" not sure if I should go Pet/Gas or 1hzTurbo??

i put a 1 kd ftv motor in my ute 89 model ifs hilux, which is the current hilux motor. i run 35's and have 6.5 " lift kit. it averages 9 km per litre. more on a trip.

At the moment, having just bought a intercooled multivalve* returning 12/100 pretty consistently, i would buy a 4.5 on gas, there is tonnes of them around so you can choose an A grade 1. At current diesel and gas prices, even if you used 24/100 you would still be cheaper to run than me around town and on the big highways, in the bush i can carry 260lt of diesel which would get me conservatively 2,000km between stops (assuming no great change in fuel economy, which would obviously happen) so take that into account when buying.

315k on the clock, safari intercooler and tune (but in need of another and prob injectors), 3" lift, 285/75/16 on alloys, arb winch bar/side rails, XD9000 winch, dual batteries.
